    Passed Ball/Wild Pitch Issues again?

I'm 3 games into a franchise with my Pirates franchise, and I've had like 5 wild pitches against me, and it's led to 11 stolen bases in 3 games.

With this other issues that I've run into, I'm starting to turn against this game. This is turning into like every other 2k sports game. Seems good when you first play it, then see a couple minor things, then a couple others you think you can fix with slider adjustments, then you just say the heck with it and hope for next year. Then next year comes and it's the same thing repeated. 2k7 will have the same roster issues, lack of a DS, and other general glitchy gameplay.

Well you know what, screw next year. I've had it with this 2k sports nonsense. I'll end up getting Sony's MLB '07 for the PS3 when it's released next year. Planned on getting a PS3 for the Formula 1 game anyways(the rare Sony exclusive license). With the horrid NHL 2k6 and now MLB 2k6 Take2 isn't getting anyother dime of my sports gaming dollar.

I've only seen wild pitches 5 times or so and i'm nearly done the month of April. So while it's not optimum it's better then the issues last year where you saw passed balls and wild pitches 2-3 times a game.

seemed to happen to me about 1/2 the time I had a guy on 3rd and I guess the pitcher got too "tense" and chucked one to the backstop.

Oh well, it's a moot point anyways. I just took the game back and got my $18 for it.

I'll tell you one thing, I wish to hell Konami would release a baseball game here. Seems like Konami is the only company able to make a sports game worth a crap in the past 3-4 years...no I take that back Midway's NHL Hitz Pro was probably the best hockey game of this generation of consoles.

Hmmmmm.... I have played about a dozen games with various different teams and pitchers and the CPU has thrown 1 WP. Something doesn't add up.

This was in franchise mode, if that makes any difference(who knows with 2k sports games). Just seemed every time there was "pressure" situation, the cpu pitcher would try to hit the backstop.

The real nail for me to take it back, was also giving up 3 inside the park home runs. Seems it's impossible to go up to the wall to pick up a ball, without your player hitting it and doing a backflip onto the field.

That backflip animation is a bitch. Waaaaay too sensitive. But the WP problem you're describing hasn't been to the degree you've experienced. I think their are a tad too many Passed balls/Wild pitches but nothing to go off the bridge about.

are you pressing the pitch button twice?? you have to press the pitch button again as the circle shrinks. try and press it when it is very small.

I just finished playing and I had 4 wild pitches in one damn game. Can someone explain how to accurately pitch in this game? I didn't know you had to press the button twice. Also what does it mean when the controller vibrates? And is better to use the pitch setting of breaking or pinpoint. One more question. When you bat are you suppose to pull back and release or pull back and push forward in one motion? I rented the game from GameFly so no instructions...

You can download the "online" manual in .pdf format HERE

Breakpoint pitching is where you aim where you want the pitch to BREAK, not were you want it to end up. Forces you to know your pitchers and their pitches. When on the mound, you can pull R-Trigger and see how each pitch breaks.

Swing stick: Pull back and release is a contact swing. Pull back and push forward is a power swing. Hope this info helps ya...

I'm not talking about ME throwing WPs, I'm talking about the computer doing it. That's how the pirates had 11 stolen bases in 3 games.

Last year you adjusted the CPU errors up to, I think it was 50, and it took care of the passed balls. That's not working this year?

i've played around 4 games against the cpu and have seen 1 wild pitch, i have errors set at 75 i think cause people said they weren't seeing many errors, do you recall what pitcher was throwing all of these wild pitches.

I'm starting to wonder if the error slider is backwards. I have mine set at 80 right now and haven't seen one. I am using Pro adjusted sliders. When I was using rookie it seemed that the lower I made the error slider, the more there were. I'll have to experiment tonight when I play.
