Have you considered Xbox Live Silver? It's free, and I THINK you would still be able to dl the patch. I'm not sure though, and you definetely have a good point...

By looking at your sig, I'm assuming you have a 360. If you don't have gold, you can still get a patch as long as you have an internet connection(via XBL Silver). It will prompt you when you fire up the game when there is an update for the game.

Basically, yes. You are SOL. Just as SOL as you'd be if you purchased a video game console with online support only for high speed internet connections. Oh wait! You DID do that, didn't you?

well, I knew it only supported high speed, but playing online isn't my main priority (but it would be great to have) but i would rather be playing my 360 then a PS2

if you have an ethnet connection on your computer then you can connect to xbox live even with your dialup modem, i know cause i've done it, i had to take an update when i connected, something to do with a new dash board i believe, i have the silver connection that comes with xbox 360's for free, so if the patch wouldn't be to large there would be no problem, if your interested in how to do this give me a PM.

nice, a lot better than dialup, i also live out in the boonies and am getting the canadian version of wildblue, have you checked out the www.wildblue.cc there is a gaming forum there about what games work for online play, you should check it out, also there are lots of guys over there who have connected to xbox live using wildblue so you should have no problem.

You know, not everyone really gives a flip about playing games online. I guess it must be nice to think the whole world thinks like you do though.

My guess is that they'll do it like EA did Madden 04 which had the draft class glitch, and send out new discs and replace the ones in the store with the new ones.
