Xbox, but I'd be almost positive the controls are the same when it comes to baserunning.

They don't have an advanced manual for the 360 version or I'd check it out. When you get a chance, play a situation with multiple runners on and see if the controls are the same for the 360 with the D-Pad.

Ill do that, i swear i tried using the dpad.....and got no response....but take that with a grain of salt......i only tried it like 3 or 4 times, because i was so use to mvp...and when i got no response...I just assumed it wasnt the way to do it....but ill check later tonight again.....

OK, i was confused at first but i figured it out halfway through my first game. You'll notice inside each window there will be a number. 1 2 3 and H, each in a corner. Basically whatever number it says is where he's going. If you hit a single and hit L twice, there will be a "3" in the box, indicating he's going to third and not stopping. If you hit R it will go back to two. Understand?

Basically whatever number it says is where he's going. If you hit a single and hit L twice, there will be a "3" in the box, indicating he's going to third and not stopping. If you hit R it will go back to two. Understand?

So how do I send just one runner?

Let's say I have a guy on second, a single is hit, and I want to send the guy on second home but keep the batter-runner at first?

Every time this happens I end up sending everyone.

NOTE TO GAME DEVELOPERS: Ya'll figured out baserunning like 20 years ago. You need two buttons, and a directional pad. One button to advance, one to retreat, the directional pad to control individual runners. I don't know why this was ever changed.

You switch to that runner in the window. It will be flashing. And you press the left tigger once or twice until it saids "H" in baserunners window. The D PAD will make all the runners run

You hit the button that corresponds with the runner you're sending, then squeeze the trigger once if you want him to take 1 base, twice to take 2 bases. Think of the buttons on the controller as a baseball diamond: A = homeplate, etc. So for a guy who is heading to third from second, you hit Y and squeeze the trigger. If the guy was on first and you wanted to send him to third, you'd hit B and squeeze the trigger twice.

If you turn the User Baserunning Speed Burst option off, their won't be any letters showing you what button to push. A blunder on 2K's part IMO.

But the button layout is just that of the baseball diamond so it shouldn't be too hard to nail down.

yes, it is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Very confusing at first. Just press the button corresponding to the base the runner is running from and hit L trigger one time to advance them 2 bases.

So if you have a guy on 2b and there is a hit to the OF, Press "Y" and L trigger one time. You will see the "H" in the runner window indicating he is going home.

That must be it. I kept looking in the manual and it would say to hit A, B, X, and Y to control the baserunners, but I didn't see those on the screen. I don't have speed burst on, so that explains it.

I think i got it down. Not sure though. OK if you hit the left tigger once he will go to 2nd if you hit it twice he will go to 3rd. So if you just tap it 2 or 3 times(like i was doing) he will keep running. If you notice in the baserunners window at the top of it,it has 2b/3b when you press the left tigger. That tells you where he will run to. Ok say i hit a ball in the gap. And i come to 1st and decide i want to go to 2nd. Just Press the left tigger ONE TIME. Say you think you can go for 3rd Tap it again. If you decide at anytime to go back hit the right tigger. If you have more then one base runners you have to switch to what ever runner you want to run and hit the left tigger. If you want ALL THE RUNNERS TO RUN use the D-PAD..... CONFUSED YET?

Nope, that's exactly right. I too was spamming the left trigger and he would run for an extra base. Previous games would let you spam away, as long as you did it BEFORE he got to second base...

Ive got the baserunning down, but what about stealing (XBOX 360)? I still can't get a guy to steal withOUT going into BASERUNNER MODE... Any tips?

Please ignore my ignorance, but...how do you return the runners to the base on a deep pop-up so that they can take off after the catch? This is killing me.

Manny, lets say you have a guy on first which is B on the 360 you hit a deep fly ball to the outfield...you hit B or the corresponding button for 1st base and click the right trigger button to make him go back and tag, then click the left trigger once to send him to second
