How do you save VIP settings?

I hate having to go in manually and set my cameras and set to classic stick every game. Ive tried saving my VIP and loading it and before a game in my franchise I will see the settings how I want but when I start a game swing stick is on etc and everything is default. Anyone know how to save it so I dont have to set it manually every time I play a game?

i'm having the same problem and it's driving me crazy. did you by any chance create your VIP after starting your franchise? this is what i did and i think that's what may have caused the problem (since not everyone is complaining about it). i really want to find out how to fix it though so i don't have to set it up 162 times each season.

LOL....I have the same exact problem and its been driving me crazy. Each game I need to keep resetting these things and it doesnt carry over the next time I restart my Xbox. I guess this is just another issue with the game.

It also seems like there are settings all over the place in different menus....they could have better streamlined ALL of the settings for the gameplay, presentation, difficulty, visuals, rules, ect in ONE place seperated by tabs that could be simply scrolled thru and selected by using the left and right triggers.

One place, One location, One menu............ahhhhh functional bliss!

I'm having this problem to, it drives me nuts. I do really like this game but 2K makes it hard with all the little things that are so annoying and probably not that hard to fix if they had just spent more than 20 minutes testing the game.

The VIP save location is in a weird spot. It took me some searching to find it. From the main screen go: My 2K6 / My VIP / Manage. You are now at the top of the VIP slot on the left, and can cycle through using the triggers to select your team. Now using the left thumbstick move down to Active, then move down once more to Save. Once you save it, it will load every time you start the game. And now you're free to set your profile up anyway you want.

Same problem. Sometimes, the Vibration and Smart Throw things save as Off, but my camera settings never do.

This year, they fixed the Audio save thing, but now this is the problem. Somebody found a fix for the Audio save last year... perhaps you do it the same way (I don't remember how it was done, though).

Don't save over top of your old VIP if you make changes. Save a whole new VIP. This was a problem in 2K5: a glitch that causes info to be lost if you save overtop of an old file.

So, does it actually save and stay if you create a new VIP and save? And do you only have to do it once?

Hey baa7 I tried what you mentioned earlier and it did not work for me. I went in and made my changes went to save and then turned off my xbox, put it back on and it was right back to the default settings. In your last post are you saying that I would have to set up a new vip because you can't save over an existing one??? Thanks

What I've found last year with the settings saves, is that once you saved over a previously created settings save, it sometimes lost info. If you've saved over top of your current VIP at any time, it still might not save properly, even if you save it in a new save slot.

Maybe as a test, try quickly creating a new VIP, make some changes -- some things you're having trouble saving right now -- save it, then exit the game. Start the game up again, and see if those settings stuck, or if they reverted back to default.

Again, read above. What I've been doing is creating a VIP and save once. If I make some changes, I then save it in a new slot and rename it. Then I delete the original VIP (first one i created), load up my new one, rename it the same as my original VIP, and then save that one aagin in a new slot. Then I delete the second VIP I made.

Ugh... sounds like more time than I take with the other stuff. I think I'll pass.

Hmm, I dunno about you guys, but if I just do baa7's instructions, and then say I wanted to make a change (like change from Swing Stick to Classic), and then I just save, it works for me. (Basically, overwriting it works fine for me)

Overwriting can work. I found last year with the settings files that it worked sometimes, and didn't others, so I just got in the habit of never overwriting an old save.
