    From a Marketing Standpoint

I'm just curious what you guys think will happen with this game when the patch is released (pending it benefits the game and more specificly the freeze issue). Is it too late to expect this game to sell, or has this major error devistated the marketability of the game. Gosh, of all the things to go wrong right after they close the license deal.

I bet there are some folks at 2K with their jobs hanging by a thread if not already gone. It's really a shame because I'm a big fan of what 2K Sports has done with their lineups. Without talking about whether they top EA or not, 2K has introduced some very innovative concepts that have really enhanced their games.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

I'm a fan too. But really, they only have themselves to blame. These issues go back to NFL 2K5. So much in that game was basically broken. Even NFL 2K4 had a major glitch -- the bad angle pursuit glitch. Then MLB 2K5 is released TWICE, both times with horrible bugs and glitches. They haven't responded to their QA problems going on 3 years, and now it's biting them in the butt.

I'm a big fan of 2K Sports as well. NBA2K6, CHoops 2K6 and NHL2K6 are all tight simulation based not arcade style sports games. But everyone of these games have suffered from what MLB2K6 is going thru lockups and freezes.

Someome needs to be held accountable and VC needs to look at hiring another developer instead of using Kush IMO. The damage is done for this year and potentially next year as well. If I hear Kush is behind MLB2K7 no way Jose will I even consider it.

VC needs to hire a Japanese developer. They know electronics and gaming. Also make the best cars.

Now this might be a little off topic, and I know it will never happen, so don't jump on me. But just imagine for a second, if 2k sports, EA sports, and the ESPN, and MLB licenses came together to produce one glorius game. It could be MVP 2K7 featuring ESPN technologies. Imagine what that could be like for the xbox 360. . Just think about it, live updates of real games, ESPN presentation, the best parts of 2K's baseball game and EA's baseball game. It would be almost perfect. O and it would go through lots of testing. That is my dream.

Well, I think what you hope for is actually very possible. Let's face it, the bulk of sports video gaming is in the NFL. EA grabbed that and ESPN. It is my opinion that they better put something together in the next 2-3 years that will utilize what they paid for. To think EA bought these rights just to say "Mine! No, No...only I can play with it" is foolish (I'm not saying you think like that). I'm expecting full ESPN presentation alongside a very much enhanced and unique football gaming experience. As far as the MLB stands, I would like to see the team that brought us the NFL 2K series handle that. Not Kush.

^^^^^ This is exactly why I love this website. Besides the great content, the members are smart and informed, on another board I might have been flamed or yelled at, but here its all good things.

Anyways I think you are right, but also it seems to me that this year has been a throw away year for EA. In the sense that they have this new ESPN licence and NFL contract, yet they failed to produce any outstanding games this year. It seemed to me that all of their games were subpar this year, all around, from Madden to NHL, just lacked a little something. Hopefully this was just a matter of having their plates full with the 360's release and the new licensing deals. I really look for and am expecting a great offering next year on the 360 and all the consoles. But lets face it, EA should be pouring most of their resources into next generation, just like the rest of the industry should, in order expand their market.
