Missing out if you're still using the buttton to hit.

I tell you, I really love using the stick hitting in this game. I will NEVER use a button again. THe button now seems so primitive. If you're not using the stick, you are just missing out. I love having to adjust to all of the different windups and pitching styles. Check it out boys and girls! I hope they keep this feature in games to come.

I have yet to give it a shot but I really don't mind classic batting.

Except the swing stick is timed hitting, and I prefer zone. And it's so easy it's crazy. I was playing with Contact at 5 (Pitch Speed 70) and still making contact with every batter. So it really comes down to whatever works for you. I also prefer classic pitching. And as innovative as Payoff pitching appears to be, I find the yellow circles and the fact you can't shut of the ball indicator, annoying to the point where I switched to Zone... and I couldn't stand Zone pitching in 2K5.

Is this years "classic" version really zone though? It seems more like MVP's press up for flyball, down for grounball stuff.

I've switched back and forth between both methods. I think I'm going with the stick simply because I don't feel classic is a true zone approach and mainly because there seems to be a delay between hitting the button and the batter swinging. I've tried the low zoom 100 angle and it didn't seem to help any.

yeah there is a delay. I am pretty used to the slight delay now. Don't know if there is anything to do about it other than swing a split second early.

if your using classic hitting you have to use low no zoom at 100, then there is basically no lag, low zoom at 100 has lots of lag

No. The little bit I tried of it appeared to be the same as swing stick. It's liked its "zoned" to the bat, not to the strikezone. But it's still mostly a timed swing system. I guess Kush figured it's "classic" because you "push a button, just like before". That doesn't surprise me, given they dared to call last year's other swing system a "cursor" system, even though it didn't have much to do with real and actual cursor hitting other than moving a circle around in the strikezone.

I don't know how people can even use the zoom. It's like trying to hit a ball on roller skates.

I agree that the swing stick is better...except that I score 20 runs a game. Even with contact and power down to 0 its just too easy. I either strike out or get an extra base hit.

Do what I do: play on a 24" standard TV so that the on-screen image is the size of a postage stamp. Increases the difficulty by leaps and bounds

But I agree with you. I had swing stick on 5 and was still able to oggle the Cuban women in the stands while batting.

I'm gonna try the swing stick again. I like the premise of having good timing. So timing is everything with the stick? There is no aiming involved at all?

Aiming with the bat, yes. If you aim outside for an outside pitch, you'll make good contact. If you aim inside on an outside pitch, you'll hit it off the end of the bat. If you aim outside on an inside pitch, you'll hit it off the handle. Like I said on another thread, it's zoned to the bat this year, not the strikezone.

I'm fine with my one button press, thank you very much. I've never really tried using the right analog stick to swing (don't have MVP NCAA 06 either), and I thought MVP's system of batting was pretty good. I actually really like 2k6's ... it's challenging and realistic for me right now.

If you messed with other sliders and not just contact and pitch speed you could have gotten a more realistic feel. Instead you half-***ed it and gave up.

                              Typical.
