    Question about the upcoming patch.

I have been reading on these boards the mixed reviews about this game. I finally decided to wait until some sort of patch came out and see if that fixed the freezing problems. My question is, most likely this patch will have to be downloaded through Xbox Live, however what if you don't have Xbox Live? (I know I must be only a handfull of people that do not game online.) For those of you that have experience downloading these sort of patches, is there any other option? Thanks for the help.

Unfortunately you will be left in the dark. Thing is these patches aren't saves where you can transfer from one 360 to another. They are invisible saves.

Sign up for the trial download, than cancel. Or pray and hope they release the patch on cd in one of those gaming magazines.

It will be available on Xbox Live Silver which is free. As long as you have a high speed internet connection you're set.

I already pmed a mod at 2ksports and they told me they will have a patch for those that have xbl or don't have xbl.

I'm one of those that don't have xbl and it's a no go to hook up the modem to the 360.

I'm not about to go out and buy a wireless hook up from MS as well.

Roadman, its not a problem hooking up to xbox live with a modem as long as you have an ethernet card in your pc and most seem to come with one, i've done it with my silver that comes with the 360, the only thing i'm concerned about is how big a file the patch will be cause my dialup is not very good, if your wondering how i connected to live PM me.

If you go to the 2K site they say ....
"2K Sports has finalized a solution that solves the “freeze” issue in Major League Baseball 2K6 for Xbox 360 that is occurring with some consumers. An auto update is currently in compliance testing at Microsoft. 2K Sports and Microsoft anticipate the auto update to be available early next week on Xbox Live, free via the Xbox 360 Live Silver service that comes with every Xbox 360 bundle.

Listed for reference are the temporary work-arounds that may still be used until the auto-update is distributed. (Disclaimer: These methods may not be 100% effective):

            1) Remove or disable the HDD

            or,

            2) Load three different Xbox 360 games to the main title screen of each game then load Major League Baseball 2K6 on Xbox 360. All three Xbox 360 games must be completely different before loading Major League Baseball 2K6.

Please stay tuned for final updates as we will detail methods of delivery and also the procedure for those who cannot access the auto update on Xbox Live. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to your playing experience and we appreciate your understanding and support."

That's why I pmed the mod over at 2k.

              Here was my question.

Do you think there will be a solution for those with freezes that don't have XBL?

I didn't notice anything said about that in the latest announcement.

              Here was the response.

Yes. The details are being worked out right now and an announcement about that is expected along with the announcement next week that the update is available on XBL.
