How do you make a diving catch and/or climb the wall

Ive given up plenty of base hits due to the fact that i dive for the ball too late. It seems like there is a delay when you press the right stick to dive and when your player actually dives. Ive also had instances where I dive perfectly and looks like the ball hits off my body and gets deflected.; Not too big a deal since diving catches should be hard to puu off..

Also when I want to climb the wall, i press up and my player just dives. Any advice on this is appreciated.

The CPU will decide when a player has a shot at a ball going over the wall. The icon will pop-up under your player and then you will be able to climb the wall. I've robbed two so far in my Cubs GM Career.
