Can you differentiate hit type w/ Classic swing?

I prefer classic swing to hit stick but with hit stick you can swing for a line drive or power hit (fly ball). Is this possible in classic swing mode. If not, what determines the type of hit im going for. If I wanna sacrifice fly, how is this possible with classic swing?

Push up (left, right or middle) on the left stick as you press the swing button, that will cause your batter to try an uppercut swing. Pressing left or right on the stick will cause a line drive swing, and pressing down (left right middle) will cause a grounder type of swing.

Personally I like classic mode better than swing stick. I find it easier to lay off of pitches. Classic + batter's eye + strike zones turned off = sweet
