Okay, trying out my roster update. I'm using BFJjoes PRO sliders. I'm using CLASSIC HITTING.

There is a delay between the time you push the swing button and the batter swings. I see a pitch I like, think swing, press the button and there's just enough delay that the batter is ALWAYS late. I have to swing early, which means it's impossible to try to read a pitch a pitch this way. It's purely guessing the pitch break. I struck out nine times in four innings before I just put the controller down in frustration.

I had same problem and gave up(on classic),but now" LOVE the swing stick,I use it just like the ncaa college baseball game,and hit the crap out of ball it gives me a little not much time to see where pitch is coming....

The game's new: don't bite off more than you can chew. Switch from Pro to Rookie and your strikeouts should go way down. If they don't, I'd say you're probably beyond help.

Another thing: Are you closing your eyes before you swing? It helps if you keep them open. I know pitched balls look like they're going to fly through the TV screen and nail you in the forehead. But don't worry -- it's really just a video representation.

Finally, try switching from regular to lite beer when playing. You should then be able to get an extra couple innings in before your coordination disappears completely.

Seriously Jim, there was a post or thread around here where --- as I recall anyway -- someone was saying they reformated (or something) and noticed a lot less slowdown etc afterwards. Might have been in the glitches thread. Maybe try doing a search.

What about taking a blow torch to this disk?

I don't know if you took time when you rented the game to go through the player attributes or not, but I can honestly say that whoever did these there was no rhyme nor reason. Going through the FA list I found at least 50 more players who have the wrong photos on top of the 40 or so I found on the teams. Just a mess. I don't even know how the game could sim accurately with some of the stuff I see.

That aside, after upgrading this roster set, no crouch stances, no jedi bats, relief pitchers throwing out of the stretch, many extra players added, still trying to get a consensus on the OF ARM STRENGTH and ACCURACY, adding ANTICIPATION to many of the players fielding, reducing pitchers batting attributes (many of these guys could lead the league in hitting if they were playing in the field, tongue-in-cheeck), I'll probably not even play this game if I have to use the swing stick, just post the roster and fade, oh yes, fade into the desert sunset.....

So I did a little research about the 360 and discovered there is no need whatsoever to load three games to their title screen and then put in 2K6... just clear your 360's cache. To do that 1) just put in a game, and let it fully load to the title screen... don't jump past any intro videos or cutscenes, let it load. 2) Shut down the 360, turn it back on without a disc, while it is turning on hold down the "A" button until you get to your 360 Gamer screen. This will clear your cache. 3) Put 2k6 back in and viola'

I will try this. Let me just say that I've taken my neighbors dog captive and if this doesn't work, he's done............................

I noticed all that. First thing I do when I get a new game is check rosters and ratings. Actually, I think the ratings are that way so that it DOES sim properly. How it plays in User games is of secondary importance I'd say. A lot of sports games seem to be set up that way I think.

Well, I released the neighbor's dog. Unfortunately my cat got a hold of him and roughed him up a bit. A little mecurichrome and a couple band-aids and he looks okay though.

Well, that seemed to work. Now, do I have to do this before I play each game? Clear the cache?

You should give it a try and maybe post your observations. I found it strangely simplistic and dead easy. And it's not zone hittiing yet it's not completely just timed hitting either. It's beyond me what they were attempting to emulate with this game. I never got the sense I was playing video baseball, what with the oddly programmed and designed swing stick (more like golf), ball cursors and those bizarre yellow payoff pitching circles.

jim if your seeing lag while batting with classic you must be using the low zoom batting view, it does lag, switch to low "no zoom" at 100 there is no lag with that view, hope that helps.

baa7, have to disagree with you about the attributes in this game. Just take Jeremy Bonderman, pitcher/Detroit. His hitting stat are really high. Khalil Greene, Jose Reyes "O" anticipation, on and on with stuff like this. Now I know they don't bat in the AL and it won't make any difference, but I'm seeing this stuff all over. It's just sloppy. It can't be accurate programming.
Anyway I'm almost done with attributes except for OF arms. Also, if they put that low croutch batting stance in the game next year I will personally hunt down the guy who did this and........well, you'll see.
