I heard so much negativity about it and I held off, but now, after the patches, what do you guys feel about the game at this point? Is it a realistic portrayal of baseball? Is it still buggy? Give me your opinions and clue me in on it as I am jonesing for a baseball fix, but only if this is worth it.

for me...its has to do with the animations...they get old after the first inning because they're all the same. also you'll have to edit a whole lot.
also, if you are into franchise mode you'll have to get used to the fact that your prospects won't progress more then a couple of points.
IMO, this game has potential to be the best baseball game if they can fix:
1. all the super heros in the outfeild.
2. player devlopment and ******** trades that happen during a season
3. animations - for a gamers sake..please put it new animations for when a batter makes contact..and a choice of hr trots would be nice
4. make the commentary go with whats going on.
all in all, once you edit the players, put in sliders, edit the rosters, and get used to some repetition...its a decent game that you can become addicted to.Comment

I would really rent it, some like it, but my opinions are overally negative. Not seeing any freezing, but the game feels very incomplete
Pros:
- Miller and Morgan are fantastic
- Pitching interface and pressure.
Cons:
- Not a fan of the fielding. Feels very sluggish, and little issues here really kill the game for me (the players hitting the wall and falling down, difficulty to dive, players moving away from the ball after it's hit, rocket arms, etc.)
- Graphics are terrible. Player models are ugly, batting stances are incorrect and stadiums have alot of errors (how can you have no brick at OPACY). Additionally, there is a noticable graphics load when you switch scenes, you actually see the stadium in the background appear after a second. This is not next gen (the rain effects could be the worst offender of this).
I find it sad that my PSP plays a better game of baseball than my 360, and this is why I hate the exclusive baseball agreement. Some may like this game, but, IMO, there are just way too many flaws to overlook.It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.Comment

Exactly what I did (waited to rent until patch came out). No freezes and only minor complaints so far. It is a very fun game. More fun than the 2K hoops games this year even though I'm more of a basketball fan.Originally posted by Cpre5Comment

This is the first time for me playing a 2k baseball game and I have to say that it isn't as bad IMO as everyone says it is. It took me 1 day to get used to the playing style and there are flaws (as in every video game). WBC is a nice feature. The rosters disappoint me the most. Same with ratings some players have.Comment

I dont really complain about animations. I played Baseball Pro for at least 3 years and that game had probably a total of 10 animations, lol.
Anyway, I still like the game. I'm not worried much about player progression since I probably wont ever finish my season to begin with. But I've had some good games. Games were I could'nt get a hit. Games where I can hit 4 jacks. Games where I could hold the cpu to a 1-2 hitter. Games where the cpu would smash me. Lol I must have just got your copy... played it last night and although I am intrigued by the presentation and the potential, it has not impressed me at all for this season imparticular. I am going to give it a few more games and hope it clicks, like other 2k games have done. It's just way to buggy and sluggish. I know people have gotten used to the baserunning scheme, but, for me, it's got to be one of the first things to go.
It just feels stiff. After I updated the roster I fooled around with it for about three games. It will be okay to get me through my winterball fix after The Show, but this game needs a lot of work. A lot of work. It's too bad that this was the only 360 offering as it's a definite "wait til next year" and, in my opinion, there's way too much that needs fixin' for it to be that good next year. I predict another buggy game.Comment

Is it the best baseball game out there? Nope. However, on the 360, it's enough to give me my baseball fix and then some. Some (not all!) of the criticism this game is receiving is, IMO, nitpicky. I have fun with it. If you take it for what it is, a game, then you just might enjoy it...
