Not saying that's WHY, just what I've heard.Comment

I think that the overall gameplay is better than the other verisons... but the gamecube suffers in the presentation areaComment

-Swing Stick. Especially with the feedback feature On which help us to know what we're doing right and wrong.
-Best pitching system(especially with Breakpoint pitching on) I've played to date. Target and controller shaking while in tense situations to make accurate pitch almost impossible, so visit the mound to calm him down. Very nice touch!
-Ability to strikeout CPU consistently with good pitchers on(AND my own pitchability).
-Diving in outfield to rob a hard to catch ball actually works(unlike previous versions, which seemed all automatically done).
-Variety of high and low scores from game to game(other versions seemed all 1-0, 2-0, 3-1 soccer scores).Comment

I heard the GameCube version doesn't have stats available for hitters when they walk up. What are the graphics like. Does this game allow you to control all 30 teams rosters like last years (not in the 360 version)?Comment

The stats are available but you have to push down on the cross shaped control to make them visible. When the pitcher begins his wind up they will recess into the top of the screen again.
I guess I have been lucky I haven't had the game freeze up on me even once (knock wood).
The complaints about the presentation are, I believe, related to the fact that the cut scenes have been taken out. The Gamecube version plays like the "Hurry Up" baseball feature on previous editions of the 2k baseball series. This doesn't bother me too much as I usually played the previous versions that way it makes the games go much faster.
I haven't reached the end of a season yet, let alone played in a World Series or anything. I just hope that they didn't leave out any celebration screens when you win a playoff series. It would really suck to play through a whole season, win a title, and then have the game just abruptly end with the final out-no on-field celebration, no trophy, etc. Time will tell.Comment

Re: 2k6 on gamecube?
Me again. I went ahead and simmed a season just to see if some form of presentation was put back into the game for the playoffs-You know a celebration screen or something. The result-Nothing, nada. You win the World Series and you are immediately thrown to the game over screen which gives you the option of saving your profile, reviewing the box score, or exiting. Oh, when you exit a blue box pops up that says "You won the World Series, Would you like to save your profile?" Wow! How impressive.
I have to say that this game plays more like a beta than a finished product, but then again when has 2K released a game without bugs and other problems? I think I would have to go back to the Dreamcast days. I remember last year, on the PS2 version of 2K5, I won the World Series and had the game crash repeatedly during the team celebration cut scene. I guess it's safe to say this is the LAST 2K product I ever purchase.Comment
