    2K5 vs 2K6

Just wondering if someone could compare MLB2K5 and 2K6 on Xbox for me? I have 2K5 and am wondering if I should upgrade if and when there is a price cut on 2K6.

I am just a casual fan and don't get too worked up about the intracacies such as double switches.

The WBC feature sounds pretty cool....is it any good? Any other things better in 2K6?....anything worse? Were there any good features in 2K5 removed for 2K6?

Thanks for any insight. Again, this is just for the good old fashion Xbox.

I've played 2K6 for quite awhile and just can't advise getting it. It has more bugs than a cheap hotel. It could have been great, but the fielding IMO is broken-it does weird things at random too. I have the regular Xbox-a fairly new one. I've even had weird lockups where it just loops the running anis and won't stop. I would suggest reading the post on the 2K threads here called"the reason why I'm playing 2K4. Anyway-unless you don't mind 9 innings of frustation-I'd back off. Maybe you should rent it for a week? There are people here that like it-this is just my thoughts on it. BTW-read the wishlist thread here-it is rather extensive.

Thanks Coffee. I did read the impressions thread when it came out, so I know there was a negative reaction to the game. But games often have a bit of an emotional response when they first come out. Just wondering if things have changed now that the dust has settled.

I actually played MVP most of last year. I enjoyed it, but not nearly to the extent that many others did. I picked up 2K5 towards the end of last season and just played a little. While it is far from perfect, it does much better in the areas that bugged my about MVP. Sounds like I'll stick with 2K5 this year. Thanks for the feedback.

Keep in mind though the Xbox version is better than the 360 version. If you enjoyed 2K5 -- which played a decent game after tons of edits and tweaks -- it might be worthwhile checking out 2K6 on the Xbox.

The addition of IE makes it a better game right there, plus the fielding is supposed to work much better than the 360 version, which was way too sluggish. Also, you can add your own custom batter walkup music in the Xbox version, and the player models are to scale with extras like long hair etc -- all of which isn't in the 360 version. AND you don't need a bloody widescreen TV to play it.
