360 version
Ok how is the franchise mode in this game? That is one of my biggest wants is a good deep franchise. Can anyone give me the lowdown on this?Tags: None -
Re: 360 version
alright so the franchise mode starts off great...but as the season progresses, **** happens:
1. lineups ALL screwed UP!
2. if a player gets injured, they get sent down to the minors and NEVER come up
3. most unrealistic trades
4. your prospects will never progress more than 2-3 points a year
5. my game freezes whenever a reliever comes in...but that just might be in general because since that started to happen i haven't played the game
so yeah, my biggest want is a deep franchise as well but this game BLOWS -

Re: 360 version
And BTW, DaoudS forgot to mention:
6. If two teams are tied in the standings at the end of the year, the playoffs shift to a 1 game series (that’s correct: “one”) for all teams. Some people think this is a glitch. Not! It’s Kush’s cool new game feature called “Sudden Death Baseball”.
7. After a couple of seasons, the game conveniently shifts from a 162 game season, to a 10 game season (you read that right: “ten”). Again: this is NOT a glitch. This is to prevent gamers from becoming too bored with the game. Plus, Kush felt the shorter the season, the fewer chances the game will freeze up on you.
Regardless, no big deal as you simply have to re-imagine and re-think your game plan for the season. Games 1-6 you’re battling for a playoff spot; by game 7 you’ve been eliminated from contention; by game 8 you’re selling your team off for prospects; and for games 9 and 10 you get to play the role of “spoiler”.
And the coolest part of all that is once the season’s over, it’s still only 12 pm, and so you have all afternoon to play another franchise season and once again try and win it all!Comment

Other thing...I am in season 2 and may or may not finish. I won't get more than 3 seasons in anyway b/c I play all of my games. I don't understand the logic of simming years in advance to find the flaws. Yes, it is sloppy programming and some of this stuff is downright frustrating, but playing every game (162 + playoffs) eliminates the 4 years down the road syndrome. These console games aren't made for that, not even "The Show" (which I love as well). Only sims can give you the 5, 10, 20 years down the road stuff. Should the game sim right? Sure. But, if you play the games, those glitches don't happen.Formerly Favre4vrComment

Originally posted by baa7Okay, thanks, and I admit I get carried away with the criticisms. My complaint is really more with 2K, who I feel released the game knowing it was glitchy and unfinished, and then never really dealt completely with all the problems and complaints that happened afterwards. And I don't know if any of these problems can be fixed, so if there is a way of getting past them, great.Formerly Favre4vrComment

Re: 360 version
Originally posted by Mr.Blackacethere is zero excuse for 162 games to turn into 10 game seasons. Also I tend to sim my first season just so I can start my franchise in the off season... so yes a baseball game should be able to sim well for me to buy it.
I wasn't even aware of the 10 game thing b/c I am just in year 2. I just don't look for those things. If it happens in year 3,4,5 I may never know. 162 games plus playoffs is alot of gaming so excuse me for not seeing that. Again, it is sloppy programming and there is no excuse for it. It just, probably, won't affect me. Whatever you choose, have a good time. That's what gaming is all about.Formerly Favre4vrComment

Hell, even the NFL 2K series was buggy, but made a strong comeback the last couple of seasons. Maybe it is just wishful thinking.
If they finally decide to simply work on improving this year's game, rather than adding a whole new batch of features etc, AND if I get a new HDTV by next year, MLB 2K7 could turn out to be a good game. Maybe they've finally learned that lesson.Comment

Re: 360 version
Oh the wonderful world of exclusive licensing deals. You gotta love it.
I think I may finnally retire this game. Not because of the bugs or I think the gameplay sucks, I just need some extra money to get NCAA Football and 2K6 is the ticket. I still like the game truthfully, had a super deep franchise mode and the gameplay was decent. Enough to keep me satisfied.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: 360 version
In most cases when someone says that a game blows. It's usually because they are a fan boy of another game. But I'm sorry this game blows. Every game I play there are multiple glitches that ruin the experience. When I play online with my friends it's not who will play the best and win. It's usually who will get screwed less by the computer and win. But I still have hope that next year they will turn things around.Comment
