Citing delays in the development cycle, Sega Sports representatives confirmed today that its upcoming baseball game, World Series Baseball 2K3, won't be coming to the Nintendo GameCube this year. Xbox and PlayStation 2 versions of the game are still on track to ship this March.

This is old news since Sega said "no more Sega Sports on Gamecube" a few months ago. I guess they are just confirming it now. No need to waste their time with a system that barely gives them any sales.

I new this would happen anyway because trying to port an xbox game to the cube would not work to well....too bad thank god I have an xbox

I am a Gamecube owner, but this news doesn't surprise me at all. I was just wondering when they were going to make it official.

Sadly, I think the little box that could is just about finshed.

Beyond a vehicle for hella good Nintendo titles, it has nothing other systems do not and is acutally missing a lot of the gaming scene. I'm very happy I bough an XBox in October.

The sad thing is Nintendo confirmed a new console for 2005-2006. Why? What's the point? I know Gameboy Advance made a boatload of cash, but GC is behind XBOX in worldwide sales. Nintendo first party games are great but that's it. If Nintendo can swallow up some developers (Capcom, Sega, Konami) maybe they can turn the tide.
