2K6 was really that bad......

I rented it from GamezNFlix and will probably send it back tomorrow. Don't know what I was thinking. It is not good. The fielding is bad, the stadiums look horrible, animations don't even sniff The Show on the PS2. Ugh, hopefully 2K7 is much better and actually plays a decent game. This game doesn't come close.

There was a bat and a ball; you swung at pitches and fielded grounders. What more does one need in a video baseball game? Or are you one of them sports 'sim' freaks?

When all is said and done, there will be two games that I will forever regret purchasing.

1) NCAA Football 2005 for Xbox
2) MLB 2K6 for 360

I agree, those 2 games were some real crap. NCAA 2005 due to all the framerate problems and MLB2K6 was ok, but had major issues.

if not for the crappy fielding the game wasn't TOO bad. It took a while but it grew on me. I guess when its the only one out there its easier to enjoy.

But define what 'TOO bad' means to you. For example, when I vomit, I don't consider that too bad given it cleans me out for the next round. So if we can agree vomiting isn't bad, I suppose one could say MLB 2K6 was okay as well.

The game had no soul. It had bells, it had some whistles, but at the end of the day in some largely unquantifiable manner it didn't have the mojo needed for me to really get into it. To paraphrase one of our former chief justices - I don't know how I can best define soul but I know it when I see it.

I disagree with whoever had Madden 2005 on their list of greatest stinkers. That was my favorite Madden in terms of gameplay! Well rounded with a nod to better defense, solid. After Madden 2003 and how much of a blast that games was at the time it was probably my favorite of all the current-gen versions. Also of note, Madden 2003 was top-notch in terms of having both mojo and soul.

Is this game better than 2K5? Honestly, with a few slider tweaks, I got into it when I was playing a friend.

If you go over the majority of the threads on this game-the answer would be no-with 99 n's in it. But-if it works for you,then you got the right game. Also-I've never played against a real person,so that could be a different spin of the ball. IMO-I'd rather play 05. 06 has a bevy of uncorrectable problems and as someone else mentioned here,it is just stale for me. Just don't feel the love like in The Show.
