XBOX 1 info??
I realize this is like asking for something forbidden, unspeakable, and horrible but is there anywhere online that has XBOX 1 MLB2K7 screenshots? If not, spare me the jokes about how no one cares about this version of the game. I'm not tying to be a prick, but the jokes about the older gens of games are already getting obnoxiously old. Anyway, thanks.Tags: None -

Re: XBOX 1 info??
Take a look at screenshots from 2k6 because I have a strong feeling the Xbox version is going to be a roster update of 2k6, especially b/c of the $19.99 price tag. Your best bet is to track down some updated rosters for MVP 2005 or your favorite old school baseball game (I'm working on some for High Heat 2002).Comment

Re: XBOX 1 info??
I think the problems from last year will at least be fixed, but the visuals will probably go untouched. I could see them changing the presentation screens and so on like NHL2K7 did. And I'm not trying to be optimistic ehre or anything but don't be shocked if there are one or two new things like the new Inside Edge. Those are just coded elements that can be copied into the regular XBOX version.
Ultimately if it really is JUST a roster update, The Show 07 will be my choice or perhaps my modded-to-the-nth-degree MVP 2005 for PC.
By the way, not in this instance (or ever, really) did a price point in console game sales ever have much to do with the content of the video game in question. Last year, MLB 2K6 actually worked on XBOX compared to 360s version which had the sever crashing problem and it was still cheaper for the XBOX 1. The reason XBOX games are cheaper now if at all is because, number 1: they're trying to extend the life of the old consoles (market share, people) and number 2: the 360 and PS3 versions HAVE to be more expensive to cover production costs which are infinitely larger on blu-ray and on 360 DVDs.Last edited by tinpanalley; 01-24-2007, 02:21 PM.Comment

Re: XBOX 1 info??
Thanks tke,
You hear what I'm sayin though, man? I'm still playing 2k5 for the World Series Moments thing. It's a blast. What the hell do I care how much a guy's uniform sways in the breeze on a 360? Same goes for 3d crowds, little uniform details, lifelike player animations, clouds that roll by smoothly, and sweat forming on uniforms: when I'm playing a good baseball videogame and I'm pitching to Jeter in a tie game in the 9th, I couldn't even tell you if anyone's even in the stands, much less whether they look like they're really eating popcorn or not. These are all great features to slap on the back of a box but absolutely completely useless when it comes to winning a simulated baseball game.
By the way, I just realized I posted in your "current gen" thread as well. I guess we're two guys who just wanna play realistic and accurate ball.Last edited by tinpanalley; 01-25-2007, 01:25 AM.Comment

There will also be a PS2 version of MLB2K7,and most likely it will be identical to the Xbox one,so that is a large install base between the two systems.
That being said,I am still surprised the Xbox version is still coming out as production on Xbox games has largely ceased. This is evident as there are no Xbox versions of MVP 07,March Madness,or Arena Football.
Fuel and MLB2K7 are the only Xbox games on release lists now.PS3/PS4 BradCompanyComment

Re: XBOX 1 info??
You forget that NFL 2k5 was priced that way to compete with Madden. MLB 2k7's got no competition (at least on the Xbox), so I don't think a comparison to NFL 2k5 is justified. I'm hoping it's good, but I'm not too optimistic.Comment

Re: XBOX 1 info??
I do know exactly what you are talking about. I have been going through my older baseball games trying to play a descent game of baseball. I played MLB 2006 but then got bored after awhile and decided to bust out my old World Series Baseball 2k3. All in all, that really isn't a bad game of baseball. The graphics weren't the greatest but the gameplay was unbelievable and that is all I really care about. Like you said who cares if uniforms sway or the crowds eating popcorn (I know some people do and I'm not criticizing those that like that sort of thing) But I just find it more exciting to hit a walk off homerun and have the game do it correctly. You get the idea.
By the way, I contacted 2ksports customer service and I got a reply back that they haven't released any information for "last gen" to the public yet. So hopefully soon.Comment

Re: XBOX 1 info??
Way to go, contacting 2k tke!! That was a good idea. Look, as far as I'm concerned, if it looks like last year's and has all the issues sorted out it will be great. I just couldn't play a season hearing Morgan and Miller talking about my players having "no homeruns and no RBIs last year" all season. Plus the other million things that were broken.
I think the game will be improved. In short, what they've probably been doing for the past year is deconstructing the game's engines (graphics, AI, stats, etc.) and rebuilding everything with one of the old MVP 05 producers running the show. To go through all that trouble for the 360 and PS3, it would be ridiculous for them to NOT simply port all that code over to the XBOX and PS2. It's quite simple at that point. Then, a few quick cleanups of graphics and they'd be set without having to put much money or time into it. I'm not deluded enough to think they're gonna sit and completely reconstruct the XBOX and PS2 versions with the same level of detail that they did with the 360 but I think they're smart enough to know they have to put the basic new gameplay into the older generation consoles. Besides, it saves them from having to write two instruction manuals.
Also, they now have "The Show" to contend with that all of a sudden became a big-time threat. That game picked up lots of followers last year that refuse to go to any other game for baseball. Here and on other forums I can tell you that the Show has developed an enormous following for people like you and I who want gameplay first.Comment
