Well, It seems like you haven't played Rockstar Table Tennis... No FRAMERATE ISSUE @ ALL, the most fluid animations you will ever see in a Sports Video Game & it runs @ 60fps.. BTW did I say the Player Models are Spot-On..

Until MLB 2K7 reaches what I posted above, IMHO it's not the Best Graphical Sports Ever

Considering that 90 percent of the graphics are the two and only player models on screen, the comparison is weak. I loved the game, but best graphics, not even close. Best animations, again...no. Virtua Tennis for the Dreamcast had smoother animations overall. The detail in MLB2K7, right now, looks to be the greatest graphical progress. When you think about the amount of poly's the game is cranking out and to still get these player models, you've done your research in tapping into the power.

1 game I forgot to mention was fight night. Those graphics were amazing when I 1st saw them and still are amazing on both consoles(even tho I've yet to see it on ps3 in person). I think MLB might have the best graphics so far due to all the details they've thrown and the scale of the characters on screen. When compared I do think fight night looks better than table tennis.

Again, another game where all detail is simply put toward two characters on the screen. When 90 percent of the graphics are that of only two character models, with only at least 15 some models to choose from, it should be a no brainer why the detail is so rich. When you look at the crowd graphics of Fight Night, they look worse than the full 3D crowd shown in MLB2K7, and even animated much worse. MLB2K7 is displaying at least 16 models on screen at a time with a full 3D crowd and a greatly detailed 3D stadium model...lets not forget all the processing going into the sound. Lets also not forget how many player models the development team has to create to authenticity. It's probably a much more difficult task than the 8 characters in Table Tennis and the few more in Fight Night.

            Re: Best graphics ever.

I think it's pretty damn impressive.

Are we talking strictly graphics when the game is standing still or are we talking to graphics to include movement and animations?

If your talking about still pitctures from the game, then I think this game makes a pretty good case. But if we are talking about the graphics in the context of the game play, I still think they have some work to do as somethings still look pretty rough when the game is in motion. I'm talking about things like the outfielders running or catching balls. Some times it looks great and other times it looks below average in these situations.

However, when comparing to last years game, it's definataly on its way to getting where it needs to be.

I agree about Fight Night looking great, but the other side of graphics looking great is how they move on the screen. Fight Night is extremely robotic with a lot of twitching. Table Tennis was liquid gold.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

I definatly agree. I jus brought up fight night because it seems like everyone had forgot about it when it was really probably the first "next gen" looking game. MLB looks like it will be the best looking sports game so far.

I think you definitely have to include the way a game animates. Madden's a perfect example of how it looks pretty good in HD - when nothing's in motion. But once things start moving... it animates badly/awkwardly, players are misproportioned, etc. Still kills me that the biggest next gen game of them all hasn't gotten something as simple as players walking right (they walk like zombies and noticeably SKATE on top of the turf post play). Fight Night does an okay job w/the fighters but the atmosphere elements are pretty bad, like they made very little effort (very little variation to the crowds, nothing else going on).

From the little we've seen of MLB2K7 so far, it has to rank at or near the top (top 3). I'd put NHL 07 in there because in the demo the graphics looked amazing - not sure how it animated/played (not a hockey fan). And NBA2K7 should be there if not number one; it's a more complete package than any of the others (graphics + gameplay + atmosphere)
HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

congrats Steelers, city of Pittsburgh, and Steeler Nation - SIX TIME WORLD CHAMPS

I totally agree about Madden. It is awkward in motion. In all fairness, I'm kinda unimpressed how the College Hoops/NBA 2k7 player models lose their textures when they go to the bench, it's very noticeable. Now NHL was just like NBA Live and NCAA, lots of framerate hits, which really marred some excellent textures. Fifa World Cup was pretty nice. Fifa 07 is really nice too, with some minor framerate hits on cutscenes and EA reallly blurred the stadium textures. I'll have to give the Best Looking to Tiger Woods 07/NBA 2k7(to date) I have a pleasant feeling that this game will give a run for their money on the 360 version. Not really feeling the PS3. Colors are too dark and from the vids the framerate seems a tad unstable. Nvidia for you......
