WSB questions

Last year I played ASB. I played the cr@p out of it. I thought it was the greatest thing ever. I realize alot of this has come from the fact that the last baseball game i played b4 ASB03 was Triple Play 98. So you get my point. This year i have switched over to sega sports for everything NFL2k3, NBA 2k3, ncaa 2k3 basketball and football. Now WSB 2k3 is coming out, i want to know how the gameplay is. I want to talk to some one who played the cr@ap out of WSB last year. Is it a homerun fest? double and triple fest? i am seroiusly thinking about making my final switch to 2k3 however i am loooking for something really to impress me about this game. ASB has impressed me a bit however WSB with the espn license just needs one cool thing to impress me and they will have my money. Im to the point where i feel as if sega wont let me down, however this is baseball, and theres always 100 things wrong with every baseball game ever to come out. So if possible could someone clue me into what makes WSB great? and this year whats better than last year?thanks for your help fellas.

    Re: WSB questions

WSB was great last year, aside from a few annoying things, such as no jumping or robbing homeruns. But, it seems as though everything has been tweaked or fixed from last year to make the game that much better. Throw in the ESPN license that all of the Sega Sports games have, and on paper you have a winner. We will have to reserve judgement on gameplay until we play it, but I am certain WSB2K3 won't disappoint. Of course, it seems as though you can't go wrong with ASB either this year, as well as MVP and HH.

i've never liked EA baseball games...i don't know how MVP will be but i just don't see myself getting it...i mean last years triple play (the one with Gonzalez) was absolutly boring!!!

i've narrowed it down to ASB and WSB....and i may get both

IMO, WSB has the best batter/pitcher interface. Even though it is a cursor, it "feels" like batting. It's like you feel the weight of the bat. The physics of the game feel right whether it be the players running & diving or the flight and bounce of the ball. I've been revisiting the game int the last 3months in season mode as opposed to franchise, and it seems to play differently. my problem with the franchise mode is that it seemed to easy. I'm getting much more of a challenge in season mode. I don't know if this is something Sega does with its game or what, but the two modes seem different.

                    Re: WSB questions

As far as what was available on the xbox, wsb was easily the best and had the best gameplay I thought. It had a solid franchise mode with features other games are adding this year. The three things I liked most were 1) realistic ball flight, I liked how the ball bounced in a realistic way allowing you to get a triple someetimes(maybe its the fielding thats more realisic), 2) speed attributes that meant something running to first. In most games it seems that speed only means something after first base. In wsb on a weak infield roller its a real challenge to throw out the runner at first if theri speed attribute is high. In many games you only see speed from first base on. 3) the franchise GM functions (assigning staff etc.)
