What were the MAIN problems with 2k6?
Just so I know what to look for going into 2k7. I remember being at work and reading the posts the day it was released last year, and it didn't look good. I also remember having the game in my hand at BB and putting it back b/c of the same posts. I know about the freezing, but what were the major gameplay issues? Were any of them "game killers?"Tags: None -

LOL, I remember that being frequently mentioned now. I can't believe that couldn't be easily fixed before the release, and you know they knew it was an issue. By now, arm strength should be totally attribute based.Comment

They way they threw the ball made it unplayable. Also 2 of the 3 cameras were horrible. The swing animation was broken.Comment

Re: What were the MAIN problems with 2k6?
One of the biggest franchise problems was the cpu management AI. example. Jim Thome would bat 9th for the White Sox and a AAA call up would be batting 3rd and he would be starting in right field while Jermaine Dye was on the bench. It was just painfully unrealistic. Every time I would start a series against a new team I would hope for the best but then cringe when I saw the lineup card.Comment

Don't expect that to be fixed. It's been an issue with the series for a while now.Comment

Re: What were the MAIN problems with 2k6?
I remember the last time I played the game. I tagged a runner up on third on a flyball to deep center and, of course, he was gunned out at home. I don't remember who the runner was but it was deep enough that my grandfather could have scored standing up. After that I took the disk out of the 360 and gave the game to my 8-year old nephew. Rocket arms were far from the only problem but that was the final straw for me.Comment

Re: What were the MAIN problems with 2k6?
The other thing that annoyed me as much as the rocket arms was the inability to get a guy out at first if he hit a grounder to your first baseman. If you tried to throw to the pitcher, he'd stop to catch the ball, and the guy would be safe. If you tried to run to the bag, the runner would generally beat you there. Infuriating.
Other annoyances:
Guys on 2nd diving back to the bag on grounders to either side of the infield
Seemingly complete inability to turn a routine double play
Video replays inexplicably turning into poorly-framed still shots in franchise mode
The most idiotic and counter-intuitive check-swing mechanism in video game baseball history
Joe MorganOf course, if Dawson gets hot, and
Sutcliffe comes through, and....
Pa, see what you did to me?
