Does the PSP version of this have a manage only mode?

Actually, I don't even know if the regular versions of this have a manage only mode, since I haven't played this series since, well, I don't remember. But I want to buy a baseball game for the PSP this year, and it seems that the PSP version of the Show won't have manage only mode (despite the other versions having it), which narrows my choice down to this.

I hope there is a manager mode(one that actually allows you to watch the game as you manage, not that silly Gamecast mode).

There is no reason not to have it, I don't know what their problem has been with that.

This might be the one thing that keeps me from buying any one of the 5 possible versions of the game this year.
I just don't understand the reasoning of NOT having manage only mode in the game.

Count me as one of the people who rather focus on the actual gameplay. I hope the franchise mode is upgraded.

I'm not sure how manage only mode doesn't qualify as "gameplay".

I've also never understood the point of franchise mode and the like in games that don't have manage only mode, because if you are controlling the batting and the pitching, then why does it really matter how good the players you are using are? (And thus, why you need to maximize profits of the team)?

I mean, I realize that better players statwise are easier to hit or pitch with. But at the same time, it's still based on your reflexes, not their actual ability. Usually you can put up superstar stats with average players in most baseball games if you are even remotely good. Not there is anything wrong with it - it allows even poor teams to win in games if you play as them, which is sort of the point of video games.

OTOH, while with manage only mode, the quality of players does really make a difference. While you can affect the outcome of the game, it's usually by using the right players in the right situations.


I've also never understood why people who don't like something, like to post in threads about that something and say they don't like it.
