This game had better be flawless

Or at least close to it. I mean they are bringing the game out a month before MLB The Show hits the PS3. I understand that they are trying to get 2k7 out the same time as the Show on the PS2 but what 2k should be considering is the fact that they are the ONLY game for the 360 and should want to do everything in their power to make this game a great simulation of the sport instead of being the first out of the gate. I mean, they wanted to be the only game on the 360 and they have that.

I know that the game won't be flawless(its not possible in a video game is it?), but it should be as close to perfect as possible for a video game(no major bugs) if they are going to release the game a month before the next gen competition and a month before the baseball season even starts.

I will not be flawless but is has to be playable, which it appears that it is for the most part.

I think you are expecting way too much. I would think and hope whatever bugs there are won't be game breakers, but that it will play a really fun and semi realistic game. I expect because of the first release to market that online may be unbalanced and in need of a fix, but that's a normal SOP because it doesn't affect offline players (and thus any bugs do not need any disc exchanged just a patch which all online players can easily get).

But to push the word "perfect" around? You WILL be disappointed my friend, guaranteed. If it was any way near perfect, why the heck would it be "year 1 of a 3 year plan"?

It's not going to be flawless because they already found a flaw in which the pitchers tire too fast... Hopefully it's corrected with sliders...

Re: This game had better be flawless

I didn't actually mean that this game should be flawless(updated original post), I just think that there should not be any major bugs in it since 2k is set on releasing this game this early.

Yes, I know that they are trying to get the jump on the competition, but as I said, its the only game for 360 owners. 2k should take that into consideration.

Why are you saying this game better be flawless????? Look what people are failing to realize is that brinkman has a 3 year plan. From what I see or hear so far is that the game looks to bee improved. Brinkmans track record over the past years. Triple play series to Mvp...Mvp, one of the best baseball games ever from a terrible terrible game in Triple play. I'm very excited for this game this year because it definately will be a improvment. But my main reason for being excited is I am looking to next year and the year after. Brinkman will lead us to a great game. I know it. I think they brushed this game up in the annimation and gameplay dept this year to make it play respectable. The graphics and detail are now in place for the future, The gameplay dept again has been touched up for this year but I expect the gameplay to get nailed very good next year. Then the 3rd year will be franchise and maybe different modes/options. Brinkman said in the On the spot interview that they didn't have enough time to rebuild gameplay so this is why they touched it up.

Re: This game had better be flawless

For me this game has to play a solid game of baseball, with no major issues.
But it has to function flawlessly. No more freezing problems, no more cache problems. No more taking off our hard drives, or reformatting them just to make the game work.

I can see that it has improved visually, I want to see some gameplay improvement. I don't expect miracles, but I do expect good, solid, enjoyable gameplay. If I see this, I can be lenient on small issues. There will be no forgiveness on technical issues. 2K has had more than enough time and game releases to work out all these issues, there had better be none this time around.

Re: This game had better be flawless

You should not buy this game.

It will not be flawless, The Show will not be flawless, there has never been such a game. It won't be 15 minutes until the shrink wrap is ripped from this game that people will start posting complaints. Wrong fonts, wrong color tones, animation wrong, throws to hard, etc., etc., etc. will be individual "gamekillers" for some people. There are going to be a bunch of "I told you so" posts about this game.

I'm a roster fanatic. I MUST have rosters current. It's just the way I play. With that said, I should not like this game, nor buy it. However, I intend to, intend to do a great roster update, tweak attributes (individual players and globally) to try to make this game even better. I intend to enjoy it for what it is.

I'm NOT buying The Show for the PS2. It was far from flawless last year, and a freezing piece of junk the year before. It won't be flawless this year, but it will be a good, good baseball game. I hope people enjoy the heck out of it for what it is, a video GAME. I will be picking up the PS3 version, regardless.

i still have freeze ups after the title update from 2k and ms. then i ask myself why am i still playing this (2k6)? the answer: even with all of the flaws, it's still the only baseball game available on the 360. besides that, when i squelch the baseball purist inside of me, and ignore the bugs, glitches, and flaws and just try and have fun, (after all, it is a videogame), i do have a good time playing it, especially with my 7 year old son. so, i guess i'm saying IMO 2k7 doesn't need to be flawless. if it resembles the game of baseball and is fun, it will be worth it to me... i guess i'm getting to be more reasonable in my old age.

Well one reason that this guy is saying 2K should be flawless is because he's been one of the major defenders on this site of EA in the 2K forums. There has never been and never will be a flawless game, and if someone is looking for that then they will be very disappointed in this and any game. As long as the gameplay is tightened up, then 2k7 should be successful.

I agree; I think anyone expecting near-perfection should stay away from making it a day one purchase until they've gotten enough feedback. I'm sure the devs would love to have another month of time to polish the game, but the reality is there are financial considerations that have to be made also. No matter what, there are going to be issues found - I'm wondering what the over/under is for the number of days it'll take before the "[this] needs to be patched immediately!" chants start raining down

Oh you know what a release does to bring users out of the woodwork. I'm just looking for a fun baseball game with the great graphics this game has. I'll play ootp for 100% accurate stats and whatnot, but as long as there are no gamekilling bug, I'll be happy this year.
