    Swing Stick Help

In the game its got the tips section, well reading through that it sounds extremely awkward to put into action.

I understand the basic concept of it, pull back and release for a contact swing or pull back then push forward for a power swing.

It gets complicated for me at the point where you swing for contact while trying to direct it, the excerpt from the game says:

"The swing stick also allows you to aim your hits. On contact swings, first step then use a leftward circle motion with RS to attempt a hit to LF. Use a rightward motion to hit to RF"

Is it just me or is that a lot to do in the split second before the pitch arrives? Is it really not that difficult and I'm just struggling to pick it up so far or is there anyway someone could dumb things down for me, or are those instructions just wrong in general?

    Any help is appreciated.

*Edit, also baserunning question, when running to 1B after making contact dont you have to press a button to make your guy run faster or am I thinking of something else?

The classic swing is much better IMO. I see a much different hit variation than using the swing stick option.

Yeah as of right now I think I'm gonna go with using the classic swing, not a big swingstick fan so far anyway, wasn't a fan of it in 2k6 either.

It's more complicated than actually swinging a bat.

I've played MVP with the stick so there wasn't that much a change. Just the half-way contact swing. Overall I actually like it better then the trigger modifiers for power, contact or "normal" swing.

Just mindlessly use it for like an hour before you try to actually use it properly. Also you never really have to worry about going left or right until ur comfortable with the system, you can still hit fine without doing that.

The classic hitting style seems too easy without using the other stick for direction. I wish there was zone hitting.

I use the classic hitting mode as well, I don't like the feel of the swing stick at all. How natural a motion is it to twist the and rotate the stick as the pitch is coming in??? I would have to plan this before the pitcher even released the ball in order to do all that in time.

I like the classic mode, but can someone tell me if there is a way to check your swing. The button for swing does not seem to be pressure sensitive. I liked how in MVP if you just tapped the swing button it would check your swing.

This is a big problem for me as I like to get the swing started on most pitches.

              Thanks

Playing the demo on both options was a big help, Im definitely going classic. The swing stick can be awkward and feels clumsy at times.

                  Re: Swing Stick Help

While I like the idea of a swing stick, it might also become the worst invention in a video game...because for someone like me who has came from the MVP series I find that I tend to be patient until I get a inside pitch on every batter and just pull back and push up into the corner for whichever batter I want to pull the pitch.

So while it maybe the most "realistic" attempt at swinging a bat, its also the most arcade thing ever.

You might want to ask this question in one of our Q&A threads. You'll probably get an answer a lot quicker that way.
