1 camera only wtf? For those with the demo...

For those with the demo (or retail), it appears the 1 camera issue is "THE" issue for this years version.

On the coservative side, it appears to be an irritant, on the more critical side, this is a near game killer. Im wonder what your take is, and I'd like to add a minor rant.

After NBA2k7 set the ultimate benchmark for cameras, how in the world did this game ship with 1! (and the fielder view option) camera? Unbelieveable. Did I time warp back to 1987? I understand if you want your game to ooze presenation with a slick tv style camera, but why not offer 10 other cameras so that routine outs are not botched by your horrible development choice???

For those of you who may cry that its fine and we just need to adjust, consider the following: If your camera wrecks the gameplay, then you have failed. If youre the type who doesnt mind sure outs going for singles or doubles, then stop reading. If you want baseball to play like baseball, then their camera choice failed, and I just dont get it. Its just a game, but like any product, the designer has choices to make, and this one is plain goofy.

I had high hopes for the game, and its a shame that something as easy to develop as cameras wrecks the experience. Sigh. I hope there is hope for a patch or we'll just wait for next year.

While I agree that we should have more then 1 choice in fielding cameras, I do not think it is a game killer at all. Try turning off Keep fielder in view in the options. I missed about 3 balls in my first game with that option on and thought that the game sucked as well. Now I haven't missed a ball in about 6 games since in the infield or outfield.

Silver 540i-You hit the nail on the head bigtime there! The Show on the PS2 has more camera options! I pre-ordered 2K7 and I'm thinking I'll now have to go rent or buy The Show. I cannot and do not like a behind the batter cam when I'm up to bat. Zero tv presentation and behind the pitcher is what I'm use to and like. That may be trivial to some, but we all have our gamekillers, and that's mine. Thank you

I agree!!, I don't know how people can say this is not important. I can't see the ball when it is hit!!, how am I going to play this game?...this was a bad choice by the developers. I don't know what was the hoopla with this Brickman guy, I see nothing from MVP that he implemented in this game. This is the same POS 2K6, but with nice graphics and only "ONE" fielder camera, ONE batting camera and ONE pitching camera. Also, the stupid bat sound is still there!, some are saying they fix it...it is not!, I still hear the fire cracker sound!!...it is no way a wood bat sound!! Listen to the Shows bat sound..now that is a bat sound!!

..I'll wait for this to be in the bargin bin...too bad, I was really hoping for this game

I downloaded the demo and thank god I did cuz I was about to drop $60 on this game until I played it. Primary gripe, the camera...I can't tell where the ball is going half the time...I played the three inning demo about three times and I can't tell you how many balls leaked right past my infielders cuz I couldn't find where the damn thing was in time....

There were some really nice aspecets to the game....Most noticably, the players gloves no longer look like a giant porterhouse steak on thier hands, it actually looks like a baseball glove...

Overall the gameplay still feels cheap...the fielding and fielding camera sucks, It's very difficult to read the pitch and determine if it's a ball or strike, I feel like I have to swing at everything...

I'm picking in The Show for PS2 today instead of this.

Are you people kidding? You're not going to buy the game because you think the camera angle is bad and you can't field? Have you ever thought of getting used to it and possibly trying to like it? I had NO PROBLEM at all fielding, I think the camera angle is teriffic.

I agree as far as getting used to it. And I like its feel as far as you HAVE to be quick and react FAST like you would IRL.

My biggest gripe about fielding in other baseball games, is outfield flies carry too long, and it takes way too long for infield grounders to get to the players so it is almost too easy. It feels like you have to earn it here, and once you get used to it, it is great.

But there should be options for people who just dont want to learn.

hey, STLCards05, I'm happy you are enjoying the game!, if you like the camera, then that's your opinon, me, I can't see the ball!, how can I play a baseball game where I don't see where the ball is hit too! I had no problem with 2K6. Maybe it is my eyes, I'm not a young cat anymore!!..lol!

To each his own...I think it blows. The game has some real nice touch's....but with the little things that bug me I couldn't see myself playing this game more than a couple times at best...Bottom line, I don't think it's fun. MVP 2005 is still a better, more fun game. That's the current (gameplay) bench mark as far as I'm concerned.

MVP was garbage. It was just an arcade baseball game, no fun at all. Everything about it was awful.

                        Agreed.

The game does have some nice touches but I can't stand the camera angle. Overall I don't think I would have that much fun with this game so I won't be dropping $60 on it.

Is it possible to release a patch to solve this camera issue?

Never said I wouldnt buy it, but look, you arent the only human being on the planet. If you love it, great. You got lucky.

But have you read the impressions thread? There are multiple people giving glowing compliments with one exception: the camera. If its obvious to OS members within 1 day of the demo dropping, one would assume that the devs or their playtesters *may have noticed that the camera has issues.

It is something that you dont even notice after you adjust to it. Some people adjust quicker than others. It took me about 20 innings.

I have no problem with the fielding cam, although choices would have been nice and there really is NO excuse for not having choices. Didn't NBA 2K7 have like 20+ choices? hmmm. Maybe 2K should have gotten one of those guys over instead of Brinkman. As for the batting cam-Lame. Plain and simple. If you like it,fine-I think it bites donkey rears. BTW-for anyone who only has the demo, the retail version does not have a Behind the pitcher or really any good batting cam IMO. Heading for The Show.
