    Walks?

I have asked this question 3 times in the impression thread with no real answer. Sorry, but I think this is a fairly important baseball point...

Are there walks in the game? Specifically, can you take pitches and get a free pass? Does the AI walk much?

This is such a vital part of baseball and seems to get overlooked by many games.

I have yet to walk in the demo, however you end up facing the other team's best relievers in that limited situation.

Again, sorry for making a new thread, but I've not seen this discussed much in the other threads.

BTW, I'm interested in the 360 version specifically. Not sure how different the ps3 version is.

If anyone out there could simply list how many walks they've gotten in a game they've actually controlled, I would really appreciate it.

    Re: Walks?

Well, I'm more of a pitcher that doesn't like to walk guys.

However, if you follow the catcher, you can probably end up walking a few guys. I got into numerous 3 ball counts.

And the CPU throwing balls? They do, but it depends on your patience. I'm a hacker. Therefore, a lot of balls that they threw I swung at and took strikes. If I was more patient, I bet I could've drew a few more walks.

The 360 version is very very solid. It plays a nice game of baseball.

I am sure if you are patient at the plate, you will see walks. I played 3 games so far and I have walked twice. The reason that is important is because I swing at EVERYTHING. LOL .

I have like an 86% swing frequency (per VIP)

        Re: Walks?

There are lots of sliders for CPU pitching, so I'm thinking there's some way or another to draw a good amount of walks. I myself haven't drawn any because I'm still not even close to having a handle on the pitching. Every pitcher I face at this point makes me look like an a$$.

Better then me. . The only BB I got was an Intentional BB and I played 15 innings of baseball..

But yeah, the CPU WILL throw balls, even out of the box sliders / difficulty. It's up to you on whether or not your patient enough.

I'm a very patient hitter.. I only played one full game so far and drew 4 walks off of Jae-Weong Seo in 4 innings before he got chased in the 5th. He threw nearly as many balls as he did strikes, and had over 70 pitches thrown when he was removed.

And this is with no slider adjustments on Pro difficulty.

Thanks so much for the input. This is very encouraging.

I am an old High Heat player where you had to wait for a good pitch to drive, rather than just hack away at everything. Much more realistic!
