Rocket arms fixed? I played the demo...

last night and thought the arms were really strong again. I then turned down all of the fielders' "throw speed" ratings (for user and CPU) to zero, after which the arms still seemed very strong. I only played a few three-inning games, though.

For those who have played several games of the retail version, does this still seem like a problem or do the arms/throws seem realistic?

    Thanks for any replies.

I dunno, in the retail I was using the Yanks and someone hit a sharp liner up the middle w. a guy on second and I thought I was gonna gun the guy down by a mile at the plate, but Damon threw like a girl as he does in real life and the runner didn't even have to slide the play was so not-close.

I have all throwing sliders set at zero and I still think the guys throw too fast. It's not nearly a game-killer, but the problem's still there.

That demo is 3 months old it didn't get approved until over the weekend so that's basically just teh first project. In the retail version the arms are toned down.

It's mind-boggling that after all the criticism...

last year this problem still doesn't appear to be fixed. Seriously, at "zero" arm strength, the ball should practically float. I'm amazed they added the "arm speed" sliders yet still don't allow for weaker arms (similar to last year when you could set throwing strength to zero for each player, yet they still threw too hard).

I'm sorry, I never really understood the term. Can somebody please explain to me what a "rocket arm" is, and how somebody came up with that term rather than just fast throws?

I tripled with Reyes in a game I just finished- I've toned down OF speed to get them to the ball a bit slower as well. I've hit numerous doubles as well.
