    Issuing walks

I have the demo, but still haven't figured out a set of sliders/settings/pitch interface which will make users issue walks? this is a big concern and if this game can't deliver those kinds of numbers, I don't think I will get the game, so please give me some combos of sliders that can recreate this walks issue.

so what do you all think about ISSUING walks in general? realistic, on the low side, non-existent.

    thanks for the responses

Played the game for a while last night: first impression is User pitchers issuing walks unintentionally is going to be an issue again this year. The payoff pitching target is just too easy to hit on or near perfect every pitch. They really should speed it up or switch to calling it pinpoint pitching. Last year editing pitch control ratings didn't help. Haven't tried that yet - might tinker with it a bit later today.

Turn off ALL the pitching aids (vibration, strike zone indicator, etc.) and increase the CPU contact /AI skill. You will walk batters - not because you will miss pitches randomly - but because you will be less willing to go inside. Also - in this game umps hae different strike zones - which will also lead to walks.

The accuracy of the pitches is not the problem IMO. The user just needs to have settings where he is "punished" if he goes inside to often.

The easiest way to do it is go to the cheat menu and activate the cheat for 2 ball walks. It will definitely affect the pitch count, but it will make you walk more batters.

i have always played with aids off and such, and this advice to raise cpu hitting is somewhat flawed because, it still doesn't HINDER your ABILITY to throw strikes. MLB pitchers don't walk batters all the time because they are scared of the batters. YEs of course u will pitch around the great hitters but I don't think this game the user pitcher will miss the target with EXTREME care.

Were do you turn off the little ball that shows were you are pitchung? thats the only thing that makes it a bit to easy to paint the corners and what not. Is there a menu or setting to turn it off? i hope so

I don't really understand why people are having problems issuing walks. The catcher will call for plenty of pitches outside the strike zone, perhaps too many, if you follow his lead you will go deep into counts and walk enough batters. If you are not, your cpu slider settings are not set correctly to punish you for throwing hittable strikes.
