For those having trouble reading the pitch

At first, I had my zoom setting for batting all the way at zero, so it looked like 2k4. I was having alot of trouble reading balls and strikes and in trun struck out alot and didnt walk at all.

I decided to mess with the zoom slider and took it all the way to 100. Its pretty damn close but also seems to drop down a bit. Instantly, I was able to work the count, get walks, and my hitting greatly improved. Instead of striking out 10 - 15 times a game, It went down to around 5.

So if you having trouble with hitting and reading, give it a shot, it worked quite well for me.

    kev.

P.S. i also put the Percieved pitch speed at 50.

I'm having huge problems with this as well. I can't seem to tell where the pitch is coming from in the release, as well as where it is going.
As of now I have the settings to default, so maybe this will help- I'll give it a whirl.

I played a game online and there is not zoom so I got struck out many times by Cococrisp2000. Anyway, offline, I zoomed in to 100 and it may be too close for me so back out to about 50 and so far so good. Without a zoom, I am real bad.

i wish they stole mvp's idea with the batter's eye using color coded balls for each pitch

me too. that was awesome. Hopefully they add something similar next year. That and MVP's throwing meters would be perfect.

I'm pretty sure that pitchers have different arm speeds for different pitches. If you have a bad pitcher he'll through changeups that look slow while a better pitcher (Hoffman) will throw excellent changes with very deceptive arm speed. I'm not sure if this is totally accurate but it has helped me make better timed swings in the offline modes.
