Re: why does every baseball game have a save glitch?
Maybe the official scorer just thought that was a namby pamby rule and decided the guy didn't deserve it. -
Re: why does every baseball game have a save glitch?
That's not a glitch. You only get a save if you're up by 3 runs or less. That's a real rule in MLB.Rose City 'Til I Die

Probably because no pitcher would have gotten a save in that situation. That's not a glitch, it means the game is working correctly.Comment

People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: why does every baseball game have a save glitch?
From the MLB official rulebook:
SAVES FOR RELIEF PITCHERS
10.20
Credit a pitcher with a save when he meets all three of the following conditions:
(1) He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his club; and
(2) He is not the winning pitcher; and
(3) He qualifies under one of the following conditions:
(a) He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning; or
(b) He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, or at bat, or on deck (that is, the potential tying run is either already on base or is one of the first two batsmen he faces); or
(c) He pitches effectively for at least three innings. No more than one save may be credited in each game.Comment

Re: why does every baseball game have a save glitch?
Throwing 3 innings is not a guaranteed save every time. It's up to the official scorers discression to award a save or not. If the game is a blow out, or the reliever does not perform particularly well a save may not be awarded.Comment

Re: why does every baseball game have a save glitch?
for those people who dont know baseball rules, you can receive a save for pitching 3 or more quality innings, no matter what the score, for some reason, Baseball games have never been able to get this to work properly, i would think its because of the inability to write the code to judge what is considered "quality innings" and have it work correctlyComment

Re: why does every baseball game have a save glitch?
The rule is pretty subjective, you have to pitch effectively for 3 innings.
I never knew that part of the rule.

"DON'T TELL ME I'M WRONG, I AM RIGHT YOU PEOPLE JUST DON'T KNOW THE RULES."
I'm pretty sure bukktown and xtraxisx have SOME idea of the rules when they post the following:
SAVES FOR RELIEF PITCHERS

Oh, and writing your whole post in allcaps doesn't emphasize your point, it makes you look like a whiney baby. Don't get so defensive, man, it's just that you started accusing people of not knowing the rules when in actual fact we do. You don't see us losing it, do you?Comment
