Suggestion to make a Guide for the New User

    Hey:

Im right now in the process of evaluating everyone's posts, sliders, tips, configurations in order to see if these make the game a great one and a sure buy. I know I will eventually get this game and when I do I would like to know exactly what community configurations to follow in order to get the most realistic baseball experience available. So it would be nice to know from people who have already played the game alot and tested it out about the following for new users to know:

(I know some of the answers for this, but it would be good to have the guide for others...)

    1) What exactly does the dkrause 360 roster file do to the game? Does it add extra players done by dkrause in create a player mode? Do they make the game better?

    2) I am positive sliders configurations will make the game unbelievable. Yet, there are lots of different configs out there. Has anyone tested them all out or the most prominent ones and could post the pros and cons of each config? Also, which one do the people recommend the most for a great baseball experience?

    3) Are there any tips or configurations people suggest to make Franchise mode better in any way before we start with the mode?

If you think of any other questions to help new users as well as give answers to the posted ones, let us all know.

    Thanks.

Well, I still don't have the game yet I have checked alot these boards and have seen some tips from the users.

      1) Use the popular sliders on the Slider Boards. They are constantly being updated. If you want try them all and choose on the best for you.

      2) Go to the Rosters board and download dkrause 360 roster (assuming you got a 360). Maybe you should wait 1-2 weeks before starting a franchise with this roster as it is constantly being updated and not completely done yet.

      3) I have yet to understand the whole Franchise bugs dilemna concerning trades and lineups getting messed up or injured players never coming back to the lineup. So, if someone could please post the best solution for all this without hindering the gameplay mechanics (I have read that in order to fix this we must turn trades off, but thats part of the fun of playing Franchise mode...). So let us know the solution...

Please add stuff or correct my own to see what is the best way to start a franchise/gm mode.

(Also, which do you recommend, franchise or GM?)

      Thanks

Well I can only give you an answer on number 2..............

I suggest giving Daoud's slider settings a go. I need to play more games to get a true feel for these but the game I played last night was very realistic IMO. Also, when I'm playing I use the Classic batting and Zone2 for pitching. The Zone 2 pitching is more difficult and more realistic IMO. Atleast the pitches have a higher degree of inaccuracy when you miss the spot on the meter. The ball tends to drift farther out of the strike zone than what I saw while using the default pulsating arc pitching interface.

The game I played last night was won by the CPU, 11-8 and I personally think that the ZOne 2 pitch meter gives the CPU more of an opportunity to captilize on your mistakes. What's also good about these sliders is that I did'nt see a slew of homeruns being hit. Runs were being scored by various means on both sides.

Give them a shot and see what yo think. There are others out there of course but I have'nt tried them out for comparison.

          Great. Thanks a bunch.

Also, seeing as how having downloadable rosters is such a great way to enhance the gameplay, I have been seeing how exactly it is done. It appears you need a transfer kit from Datel called Xchange360 which passes files from your PC to a memory unit. This file can then be copied to the hard drive on your 360. The guide is here:

          http://forums.operationsports.com/vB...d.php?t=164174

Yet, I have been wondering if theres a free way to do this for us to finding the kit on stores. Is there a way to transfer it with a USB device or through the shared folders network?
