    Is anyone drawing walks?

...with no check swing w/classic batting I'm finding it tough to draw a walk...matter of fact, I've played like 4 four games and haven't walked yet. I don't feel like I have the time to detrmine strike or ball and I can't back out (i.e. check swing) of a swing once I've started...anty thoughts?

Nope. I have no idea whether or not something is going to be in the zone unless I happen to guess right with the Batter's Eye.

I draw at least 2 walks a game. Most I've drawn was 5.

And to check swing you have to hit the right trigger after you've started to swing.

Sliders... the pitcher will walk you every AB if you set them up that way. Also, moving the AI Corner slider helps with telling balls from strikes.

There's not a "balls or stikes" type slider. What slider(s) are you referencing?

It took a while, but I am now drawing walks too. Sometimes to lead off the game. Honestly I think it must have something to do with YOUR IE scouting report.

I'm playing default Pro level and I just drew 4 walks in a game with Oakland vs. Texas, Kevin Millwood was pitching. It's not hard. You just have to be patient...sit on a spot and wait. If the ball doesn't hit your spot, don't swing.

Yup. I tend to think they're too close to the plate on misses on the whole though. I realize major league pitches often only miss the strike zone by an inch or two but they also throw more clear balls than they do in this game. I dropped the AI corner ability a bit and things improved slightly.

It be nice if when my batter does work a 3-0 count the CPU would not pipe it down the middle every time. With a weaker hitter I force myself to take to try to make it more realistic. A minor quibble.

Great point. I couldn't figure out what the issue was with that, but that's it and you're correct - some balls should missing the plate by inches, whereas they almost all hit the outside edge of the strikezone.

Nope, just intentional ones. I'm pretty bad right now at telling a ball from a strike when it leaves the pitcher's hand, so I'm pretty much swinging at everything.

been experimenting with the batting zoom set to 100 and pitch speed set to 50. I can pick up the balls and strikes better and actually had my first walk last game.
