Do you use the hit stick.

I keep hearing a lot of people are going back to the button because they say they're getting more hit varieties with that. I was about to do that until I read the instructions. I didn't realize that they changed the way the hit stick is used this year. Now I'm hitting the ball all over the place. Maybe these people aren't using it right. What do you think about the hit stick.

What do you do that's different this year and working for you?

After slider tweaks I am getting great hit variety with swing stick and I am getting more foul balls than when I was using classic swing.

Last year you pulled back on the right stick and let go or pushed forward to hit and used the left stick to aim what direction you want to hit it. This year you pull back then let go to hit up the middle or you can twist to the right or left to hit that direction. For power you pull back then push forward in the direction that you want to hit.

I use the stick and get great variety. For example the last game i was the Yankees vs Oakland and had 11 hits- 2 were homers, 4 were doubles and the rest singles. Other games were similiar that i played. Seeing quite a few doubles and had 1 triple in the game before that one.

I want to use the stick I just need more practice. I still like the way MVP did it. It just felt right. Might have been to easy though.

I use the stick, and I get AWESOME hit variety. I almost legged out two triples the last game, one I got nailed at third. I had 3 doubles, 5 singles, and 2 HR's...

All of this was against the Diamondbacks, who are struggling like crazy, and are 1-8 now that I just swept them

First few games, I couldn't use the stick at all, but now I'm getting great hit variety, and so is the CPU.

I also get wonderful hit variety using the swing-stick. I'm still hitting too many opposite field HR's but I haven't touched any batting sliders yet so I'm not worried. But besides that I'm seeing everything else, ripping doubles down the line, gappers for 2B and 3B's, bloop singles, hard hit grounders and line drives.

Once I got a hang of the swing-stick I feel like I have a lot of control at the plate. The SS will probably end up being my second favorite hitting interface ever behind the old-school cursor in 2k3-4.

I'm using it. Finding the alleys, base hit singles, homeruns, dribblers, pop ups, liners, everything.

Haven't smoked one down the lines yet, but I haven't been drawing to go away or pulling it that much.

EDIT: I take that back, I hit a double with Guzman last night.

why am i pulling outside pitches for home runs with the swing stick? that's not realistic.

Classic. The whole right stick in every sports game thing is overrated IMO.

I was at first, too. Mess with the sliders, and it takes care of it. Now, if I guess correctly with the batting eye at an outside pitch and try to pull it with a power swing, I usually fly out or foul the pitch off (if I even make contact).
Of course, if Dawson gets hot, and
                          Sutcliffe comes through, and....
