Why should I buy this game?

I have played the demo on 360 and have enjoyed the gameplay aspects of this game so far. I am debating about whether to pick this one up or not...??? I have a few questions on comment below and would like some information from you guys that have been kicking this game around for a few days.

I normally like to play baseball games with autofielding (though I am not too disappointed with having to field in the demo) so the fact that is not there is a bit of a downer.

In addition baseball console games are not something that I really jones for and have to buy every year - Why should I buy this game?

I already have The Show from last year on PS2 so I can always kick that game around some if I want my baseball fix...

Also are there any classic stadiums at all???

I remember playing High Heat PC back in the day and modding their stadiums on my PC to make cool minor league type ballparks... I think the most fun I ever had was modding a Crosley Field (I think that is what it was) to mimick the Durham Bull Athletic Park (their modern day AAA Stadium)... I also loved ASB's classic stadiums...

How badly broken is the franchise mode? That will likely be my main mode of play so is it even worth it for me to spend the money???

Anyone want to try and sell me on this game???<!-- / message -->

There is ‘semi-auto’ fielding in the game. Yesterday my SS picked up the ball and tagged second; all the while I was trying to just get him to throw to first.

Franchise is fine if you don’t mind sim stats being off and the CPU adjusting its lineups the way it wants to. Look at the franchise glitches the way a Buddhist would and everything will be copasetic.

    No custom stadiums, no. (OMmmmmmm….)

The pitching and hitting is very well done; and let’s face it – that’s 85% of any video baseball game.

If you truly are a video baseball fan, I don’t see how you can not purchase 2K7 this year.

      well worth buying..seriously.

As you can easily read in the impressions thread (360 version) there are bugs, flaws, etc but the overall package is VERY solid but what i love about this game of baseball is its SO FUN to play. I never had this much fun playing a baseball videogame.

Fielding is good..batting is good, pitching is awesome.. the presentation and atmosphere of this game is the best ever in a baseball videogame, hands down.

this game is like a drug..it makes you keep coming back to it even with its flaws and bugs lol

Yeah, sorry I don't think that's helpful. Last time I did drugs I woke up in a park under a picnic table with my underwear missing.

I haven't purchased a baseball game since Triple Play for Playstation and I am not much of a baseball fan (especially compared to football and hoops) and I played the demo at least 10 times after reading the forums. Then, I made the plunge to pick it up for the 360 yesterday and it was well worth it. This game is highly addictive! The demo is quite different from the retail version. Graphics and presentation are much better and it also plays smoother out of the box.

There appeared to be too many HRs at first, but I dropped the power slider a couple notches and I am happy. It's almost like watching a baseball game in a way because of the presentation. With the pitching and hitting, you feel like you are in the game in a way that I can't describe.

I don't really even like baseball and I'm digging this game!

read "the little things" thread. Then maybe rent? I myself could care less about the Franchise problem. One season of 162 games should hold you over till next year. Worthy purchase nonetheless.
