while I do hope that I don't have any major issue with my 360, what happens if I get the "ring of death" or whatever? I haven't read much about it....but will Microsoft replace my unit since it is a known issue?

From what the customer service rep on the phone said that if the its a 3 rings problem the new warranty should cover the system. But anything other than that you will have to pay for repair. If I remember the new repair price just dropped to $60. Not really sure about the price, maybe someone else knows the exact amount.

I do NOT believe this is a 360 problem...and here is why:

- When I first bought the game I had no problems at all with it. Ran fine - never frooze, etc. Played at least 70 games with no issues.
- I sold the game - but when the patch came out I was intrigued so I rented the game. Again - played 20 + games with no issues.
- Liked the game so much I bought a used copy. The used copy immediately gave me a disk unreadable error for 4 straight games. I went BACK to the disk I had rented and played 5 staright games - NO Problems.


That leads me to believe that this is a disk issue. I am in the process of returning my used copy for a different one. It should be noted that I did not clear the cache (ever) nor do I have any disc error messages playing any other games.

Well you can believe what you guys want, but it is not a disk issue. It is time for it to break down issue. I hear this a lot that the game cause this problem. Last year it was COD or GOW that cause it to break down. lol It is just how it is. They aren't made very strong and they break down very easy. I had mine break down before the patch, so I got a new disk, because I though it was the disk and it did the same thing with the new disk. It just happens! I had to get a new one from Bestbuy and that fixed the problem. Thank God for the Warn.

DUDE! I have the same problem! I have to save my game every inning to avoid losing data because I usually get the unreadable disk error at least once every time I sit down and play. I think it has to do with the patch that was just released because it never happened to me before that. I also just got my xbox back from repairs about 2 weeks ago.

Unreadable discs are either attributed to dirty discs (very rarely defective discs) or laser issues in the drive. Usually the problem is the latter. You can always clean a dirty disc.

I had to replace my regular Xbox...and so did many others for laser/drive issues. This is no different. Your lasers/drives are going south.

It's not the game...this one or any game. It's the hardware.

Okay and how does that explain how the game got 2 unreadable disc errors the day I got my xbox back from repairs?

the first day i bought my xbox360 and this game, it froze after an hour. i think its the game.

Did you ever think that your old Xbox could have trashed the disc? Made it unreadable? Get a new disc and try it on your new box. That's the only real test.

That's possible...but I don't really feel like doing that lol.

I can't even play one of my season anymore lol...which sucks cause I fantasy drafted and got a really good team. What happened was I saved midgame and when I came back to play the game froze as I was looking through the stats. Now every time I try to load that save it freezes.

In all seriousness...I had this error until I boiled a pot of water and dropped the game disc in for about 20 seconds...I read online somewhere that some MLB2k7 discs have too much of that clear "sealent" material that they put on discs and putting it in boiling water melts it off...I know it sounds strange but every other game would freeze before and since doing it I have played around 30 games with no problems...

Hmm, I'm not sure if I want to try that until I get more confirmations. I did get the error again today in the bottom of the eight during an awesome game.

had the game since FEB..played it here/ there all summer

then after patch (expos stadium downloaded/game update)

my franchise games are locking.....player gets to dugout and camera just watches player stand there.......box seems to be running hotter than i can recall (room has been warmer too)

just cleared the cache tonight...boiled disc in water...will report back in a few days

other games (star wars battlefront 2....work just fine)

is it the disc or dvd drive?

i'm guessing disc
