how to cut down on diving plays?

hey guys...i've read about robbed homerun issues...but to be honest, i havent seen one. i'm usint jt30's sliders and i'm getting TONS of diving plays, mostly in the infield. it's next to impossible to get a seeing eye single cause the 2nd basemen or the ss dives and throws me out. any ideas? i've lowerd infield speed and aggressivness but havent seen too much difference.

To my knowledge those 2 sliders (AI Fielding Aggression & AI Infielder Speed) are the only ones that directly address the issue.
The diving is built into the gameplay and hard to get rid of, they programmed every player with a "Diving ability", so that would explain it.
Short of editing every fielder's attributes to lower on diving, lower fielding aggression as much as possible. You don't want to lower Infielder speed too much since it also affects the ability to pull double plays.

The other thing you want to look into is your contact/power batter ratings (human and cpu). You want to get that perfect mix where the ball is hit hard enough to pierce the infield and get the maximum variety of hits. You have to keep adjusting these sliders until you are satisfied.

I've managed to get a good variety of hits lately with these tweaks. I'm down to about 3 dives on the infield and about the same in the outfield by the AI per game, still too much in my opinion, but not bad. Lately I've seen many seeing eye singles that get just under the glove of the infielders and make their way to the outfield, it's actually a beautiful animation. Also in the outfield, in a recent game, I've seen Manny Ramirez try to dive for the ball and just miss.

You need to figure out what works for you in terms of contact/power. Btw, this is directly tied into how the cpu pitching effectiveness. If you raise contact/power, you want to also raise pitching effectiveness/difficulty.

So in recap: lower aggression as much as possible, adjust contact ratings and power slightly up, and make the pitching a little more effective. Try to achieve the greatest variety of hits.
