I've gone fantasy draft, just as I did last year in the Show. That way, it really doesn't matter how accurate rosters are or how active GM's are.

I just want an immersive, Franchise experience, and this way I get it.

If you leave trades on and turn on the "force trade" option you can always get a player back on the right team if you see a trade that is totally out of whack. Of course this would be easier to do if there was a transactions screen where you could see all the deals that go down.

Yes, there is NO way to turn trades on or off once you have started your game mode. It is eitheir you leave them on and babysit the CPU till July 31st, or turn them off and never have a single trade made.

The easiest way to check if a trade has gone down is to scroll through the inside edge reports for each team. It takes me only about 5 minutes to scroll through all 30 teams, and I have stopped a lot of stupid crap from happening that way. For instance the D-Backs trading Brandon Webb for Frank Thomas and bullpen help. Who would trade Webb for Thomas?!

TO PREVENT TRADES DO THE FOLLOWING...

When you go to your schedule to play the next game, let the screen pop-up where it asks you to play, sim, or manage. Then completely back out, and go to your inside edge scroll through the players on the teams to see if any jump out at you because they should not be there. If there are trades you want to veto than do not save anything and reload your game. If you can live with the trade then so be it, but if you do this you can greatly reduce the stupid trades the CPU makes.

I do it because I do not want to see studs like Pujols get traded, or young cornerstons such as Hanley Rameirez or Jose Reyes get traded. Maybe a few years into my GM mode I won't care as much, but definitely not in the first two seasons I play.
