About how many strikeouts are you getting with you as the batter per game? I finally got mine down to 5(average-give or take 1 or 2) That's alot better than when I started. I raised the meat pitch slider. Lowered my contact and power/power swing slider to help equalize an over-abundance of hits. I also raised the pitch to corners slider and lowered the throw strike overall slider so I can average about 2 to 5 walks per game. This helped alot and I have become more confident at bat. I can be an impatient hitter but this game is taking me to school. My last game though, the AI's pitcher got hot,and fanned me 6 times. 2 in a row. How's everyone else doing here? BTW-when I first started, I was averaging about 9 strikeouts per game-errrr.

Re: The strikeout count..........
I'm averaging close to 10. I faced Schmidt last night and he got me 14 times in a CG...I couldn't cath up to his heat, even when I knew it was coming. The night before I faced Sabathia and he got me 11 times in 7 innings.
I think my problem is I have played nothing but Exhibition games and always choose the number 1 starter for the CPU. And usually the #1's I've been facing have been Stikeout guys. I'm going to start throwing in some #3's and 4's and see if that helps at all.
Are you using Classic or Swing stick? -

Re: The strikeout count..........
I was using swing at first, but went to classic because it was a little on the weird side for trying to tire a pitcher. I went into bunt by mistake, accidently swung waaay too early, you get the picture. With classic,it is easier for me to foul off if I'm down in the count and basically control direction of the ball. BTW-the starter pitcher is the "boss level" of this game. And Schmidt is a beast to boot(the Dodgers pitcher, right?) turning up the meat pitch slider and corners really helps though, but like I said, turn down your power sliders or you'll HR everytime. With my new setup,I had 2 homers in 3 games. Good luck.I'm averaging close to 10. #1 pitchers are a beast in this game. CC killed me for 12 once but my average Ks per game is around 5-10.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: The strikeout count..........
When I had 2K5-I fanned like crazy. So,I took every slider that pertained to hitting and pitching, took them ALL down to 15-then played alot of games, taking notes and adjusting accordingly. I was about to do that now,but time won't allow me and I'm about 90% where I want to be. Just a thought for anyone thinking it's time to hang it up,because of double digit K's.ByurrulzIdon'tfollowComment

I see your point, but I wouldn't say it's dumbing down when you are compensating for your playing style. Everyone's different. That's why I only use the slider forum here for my trouble spots. I don't copy them number for number. The only time the fun goes for me,is when I can mutilate a team everytime, then the sliders are no good. That meat slider pitch,I believe-when used properly,is the key to a balanced, and fun game.ByurrulzIdon'tfollowComment

Pfft....in my first game Dodgers(me) vs the Brewers, Sheets tore me a new one to the tune of 15k's.
I couldn't figure him out for nothing lol...that is till the later innings.
I've never had so much fun and been that frustrated. It was great though

Re: The strikeout count..........
i strikeout about 8 times per game. I have found that I tend to strike out more towards the 7,8 and 9th innings. It's tough but it makes scoring that much more rewardingComment

Good point. Classic or swing stick hitting? any slider adjustments?.... I've had games where I wouldn't even get my first hit till like the 5th or 6th inning. Alot of fly balls and worm burner grounders. That's good baseball too.ByurrulzIdon'tfollowComment

Really? wow,I'm just the opposite. I usually fan like crazy early (1st-4th or 5th) then after that it seems like the guys have picked up on the pitchers nuances, and made their adjustments.

Re: The strikeout count..........
That is why I set the "throw to corners "slider for the CPU up higher. There is more break definition. If you feel that isn't fair, then raise the throw strikes slider up. The sliders are there for you-put em' to work!ByurrulzIdon'tfollowComment
