HD problem
This is the first game I played on my HD TV. It is a samsung dlp. The problem I have is everything is slow to respond. Like when using the hit stick it takes a second for it to register it seems. I dont have this problem playing on my regular tv. The delay happens for every button I push. It is like I am playing online but I am not. I have it set to 720p. I think that is the native resolution of my HD tv.Tags: None -

Re: HD problem
Sounds like LAG. This happens on DLP TV's unfortunately. You have your TV set correctly(720p). How do you have your system set-up(Component, HDMI, VGA) -

Re: HD problem
DLP has a color wheel this spinning wheel causes a delay with gaming. some sets have a game feature that counters the issue but its usually not perfect.
This is a problem with the tv technology not the game.Comment

Re: HD problem
try turning off the dnle and dnr in the menu screens...those things will increase the length of time it takes the signal to get to your screen...if you have game mode on your tv then turn to that because that setting will turn off all of those "signal enhancers" automatically...hope that helps you. good luck.Comment

Re: HD problem
here's my options...
play on a 60+ in hdtv, i used to play 360 only on that. it upscales to 1080i. but it was a hassle since i share that tv with others
i just got a 19" widescreen lcd about a month ago. now i use the 360 vga cables to play. it goes up to 1360x768 resolution . so i assume it supports 720p/1080i..anyone have knowledge about lcd's /w the 360?
which quality is better? hdtv or lcd? of course i like having the bigger picture, but does the quality improve on an lcd with the vga cables rather than component?Comment

Re: HD problem
1360x768 is basically the same as 720p so if your playing on that tv i would set your xbox to 720p, my 26" lcd that i'm playing on does 1280x768 which is 720p, this lcd of mine is ok but not the greatest cause the response time is rather high on it so there is some choppiness but good enough , still looks nice but with fast motion you notice it more, as far as component or vga i'm not sure if there is much difference or but i would imagine its not that great, the old crt hdtv's are still the best but you can only get them up 34" or so and are heavy as hell, lol.Comment

yeah it only goes up to 1260 x 768 or 1360 x 768..since both are 720p, does it matter which one? anything higher usually the screen is distortedComment

I am new to hdtv gaming. This is the only game I have played on it. Havent play 360 much until 2k7 came out. I did have game mode on. Have to check the dnr and dlne settings.
I have it running through component. Also someone set what do you have your tv set to. I couldnt figure out a way to set my tv to 1080, 720 etc.. I dont know the native resloution. Couldnt find that either in the tv manual or screens. anyway to check this or set the resolution?Comment

Re: HD problem
i have mine set at 720p, really not much if any difference between 720p and 1080i, actually lots like 720p better when it come to hd sets cause its supposedly better for viewing sports and fast moving action whereas 1080i is better for movies, this game even supports 1080p which is the latest and greatest hdtv setting on newer models, there was an update to the 360 some time ago making it support 1080p.Comment

Re: HD problem
It's actually DNie and DNR.
DNie: Digital Natural Image Engine. Most people think this should be set to off. The reason being is that it changes the picture quality from what it should be. IMO it leaves a more computerized picture and less natural. I believe only Samsung TV's have this setting.
DNR: Digital Noise Reduction. Some people think this will help the picture quality on SD broadcasts. When I had a calibrator calibrate my set, he recommended that DNR be turned on.Comment

Re: HD problem
You're probably just not used to the new tv yet. Last year I bought a 55 inch HDTV after gaming on a 20 inch sdtv for the past 6 years. All my games felt completely different on the new tv but after a few months everything felt normal again after I got used to it.Comment
