    Swing Stick Usage

For those of you that use the swing stick how often do you direct it to the left or right on a swing? I usually push to the zone when swinging after pulling back to step. For instance with righties, I'll pull back and push right if the ball is to the outside or push left in an inside pitch. Is it better not to do that and just go for timing? Pull back and release or push forward for power?

What have you other guys figured out?

I've been experimenting too. I have been using the direction hitting rather than simply pushing up. It does yield some pretty good hit variety and I've hit a realistic amount of extra base hits so far....Still messing with sliders.

I use the directional hitting on the swing stick maybe 10 to 15 percent of the time, but that's been going up as I get better at using it. If the batter's eye identifies a pitch on the outside corner I usually try to drive it to the opposite field with pretty good results. When I try to pull inside pitches, though, I have a tendency to yank them foul. I'm still experimenting myself but using directional control does seem to provide a pretty good variety of hits.

I like the hit variety too with using the direction. I just find on a lot pitches I hit solid go foul one way or the other. I've drilled a ton of pitches right down the line the curve foul 10 feet or so before the foul pole. I have hit a bunch of doubles and in two games have good HR totals of 1/per game.

Yea, I've just started using this as well. It seems to be a much better hit variety when you aim to left or right field. At first, I couldn't hit balls down the line but after aiming, I've hit a few and I'm seeing alot more foul balls as well. Like Seahawk, I wait till my batters eye picks up the pitch and I try to aim accordingly.
