Re: Who turns CPU trading off?
I turn it off. You can still trade with the computer. In order to keep my rosters 100% accurate, I need to turn it off, and turn on force trade so the cpu doesnt reject real trades.Let's Go Yankees!

Re: Who turns CPU trading off?
I have played baseball seasons since Hardball 2 on the PC. I've never found any use for CPU trading. Like the previous poster, I too like to keep my rosters accurate all season. Unfortunately, that has ruled out MLB 2K7 entirely for me. There is no way to control all teams lineups and rotations, and neither leaving them the same all year nor having to deal with fake trades and injuries interests me in the slightest. So in games that do permit me to control all league transactions, it's "CPU trading: OFF" all the way.
Just keep in mind that in 2K7, as the season progresses you'll only be able to affect your lineup and rotations. Everyone else will remain the same as the beginning of the season which isn't really realistic, or for that matter, fair.
Yes, there is a game that will let you control everything. MLB 07: The Show on PS2 is the choice baseball game for those of us that like to keep the game realistic. Not a "fanboy" comment by the way, just letting you know if you didn't. I know this is a 2K7 forum.Comment

Yup in no way did that resemble a fanboy comment.Comment

Re: Who turns CPU trading off?
It lets you call up/send down/pitching rotations/lineups for all teams if you choose to do so. This one has forced trades, but it's not accurate. The CPU controlled teams will do some funny things when you try forcing a trade. It's a real hit or miss.
I tried forcing a trade that would put Johnson (FLA) in the minors because it looks like he won't start the season, but when I did it the Florida (CPU controlled team) made some callups from the minor league pitchers that I didn't do, but I did pull off a forced trade that looked pretty good with some position players.Comment

Re: Who turns CPU trading off?
Quick question, when turning the CPU trading off, will they still offer trades or is that turned off also? Secondly, I understand how force trades is supposed to work but I have seen in previous games that when this is on, it will always force the trade through, meaning the computer never gets the chance to reject the trade this forcing the player to police every single trade they want to make on their own, is this the case with this game also? Thanks in advance.Comment

Re: Who turns CPU trading off?
Alright, thanks for the advice, didnt think that you could adjust that option during franchise. Are you aware that if you turn the computer trading off whether or not they will continue to offer trades to the user but not amongst themselves or if they wont offer trades at all? I hate to dumb down the game to avoid problems but at the same time I also dont want to have to police the game all the time either, so just looking for the best solution to this.Comment

Re: Who turns CPU trading off?
For those who don't know, and those who are getting a bum scoop trading works like this...
When you start you franchise or gm mode the settings in the GM Career?Franchise setup show and option for "CPU Trading" if you turn this OFF then the CPU will never offer you a trade or trade with another CPU team. However, you can still offer to trade to a CPU team. Turning this option off is only stopping the CPU from trading with other CPU teams and offering trades to you.
If you leave this option ON then the CPU will trade with other CPU teams as it wants (which creates all kind of crazy, very very unrealistic trades), and the CPU will also offer you trades too.
Personally, I hate the way this game handles trades. Guys like Pujols, Santana, Beltran, etc. would never get traded in the 07 season, and I am seeing these guys being moved in my GM mode. However, I always check right before I go to play my next by skimming through the players listed in Inside Edge. If I see someone that just should not have been traded then I will reload. I have kept a couple of trades the CPU pulled off so far like sending Cliff Floyd to SF for D. Roberts, or Lyle Overbay to FLA for Josh Willingham (don't really understand this one).
I really wish we had the option to turn the CPU trading OFF and ON as we please throughout a season (Like with MVP or ASB).
When the only option for CPU trading is etheir have and deal with it or don't have it at all it really cheapens the gameplay and realism of the life and experience of your Franchise or GM mode.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment
