    Relief pitcher and progression question

Just simmed to the end of my season on GM mode. Is there a way to fix the relief pitcher problem where if they are listed as a RP they will not show up on your pitching rotation? I guess I did not go to a game to see if they showed up during the game.

Regarding players switching positions, if you force a trade for them and then trade them back will they return to their original position?

I noticed little progression on my players. I surely don't expect all to greatly jump in their overall rating but are there some that do jump up a lot? Does this depend on age? playing time?

    Thanks guys

YES - You can change the "role" of apitcher from Relief to starting pitcher. Was that your question?

Not sure of the answer for the playesr being traded - however with any player you can switch their position.

Don't know the answer to your last question. Sorry

This really is not answering the question for me.

My players are listed as RP, so I cant manually switch in the Rotation from MR to SU, LR etc because they are not listed.

So nobody but 2 people have had this problem?

              Someone posted:
some guys come up on the roster as just RP, and don't show up on the depth chart or in the rotation, only on the roster. Because of this, unless you play every game they never pitch at all, does anyone know how to fix this?

              Someone responded:
Here's what I posted about the same problem in another thread that should work. Put one of your starting pitchers in the bullpen so that you'll only have 4 starters and press B, or whatever goes back, and it'll ask if you want the CPU to fix your rotation and select yes and that should fix the problem.

Hope you can fix it - doesn't sound promising.

Re: Relief pitcher and progression question

I know how to fix this...It happens all the time in my game.

If you have the problem with a pitcher not showing up on the rotation chart, try this...Start moving the guys around that you do have on the rotation and bullpen...A lot of times, the player that doesn't show up is "hiding underneath" another player's name.

                    So, for example...

You sign a pitcher, J. Smith, but he doesn't show up on your rotation chart. When you look at your rotation and bullpen chart, you see your 5 starters and your relievers, but no J. Smith. Lets say you have this:

                    CL B. Wagner
                    SU A. Heilman

                    LR A. Burgos
                    LR A. Sele

                    MR S. Schoenweis
                    MR R. Hernandez

Move some guys around, i.e. Hernandez to an empty LR spot. Heilman to an empty MR spot. I GUARANTEE that J. Smith is hiding in a spot where another player is occupying...When you move the player that is hiding him, J. Smith will pop up in the previous spot.

Re: Relief pitcher and progression question

This fix came to me last night. Someone else might have already posted this solution but I did not see it. When you draft/sign a RP, you will need to trade them to another team. When the other team gets him they will assign him a role. Therefore, he goes from RP to whatever (LR, MR, SU, or CL). Trade him back to your team and there you have it.
