Cpu adjustments
I have only seen maybe 2 Pinch Hitters come in for the cpu! I do see plenty of pitcher changes, but never any fielder subs or pinch hitters. Are you guys seeing much?Tags: None -

I haven't seen any fielder subs, but I have seen pinch hitters quite a bit. Usually for the pitcher late in the game. My last game they used 3 or 4 Pinch Hitters in an 11 inning game.My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Not to sound like a jackoff, but are you playing mostly with American League teams? You will see less PH in the AL."It's a dog-eat-dog world and I'm wearing Milk-Bone underwear."

Re: Cpu adjustments
Yes I am using the Yanks, but still teams make adjustments late in games in the AL too! It is not a killer for me, just sometimes late in a game when I bring in a lefty I would expect to see a PH especially late with a weak hitter up and a guy on the bench with game ending power!Comment

Re: Cpu adjustments
With 2K5, I had to lower a player's fielding ratings way down - to maybe 20% - before the CPU would take the guy out late in a game and stick in a defensive replacement. But it worked. I played without a DH, so the Red Sox had Ortiz at first. If they were winning, the CPU would take Ortiz and Manny out of the game around the 8th inning.Comment

Re: Cpu adjustments
Did in 2K5. The game seems to care much more about the player's offensive ratings than their defensive ratings. Except when the game got near the end in 2K5 - then the game program subbed defensive guys in.
Try it. Edit some star player's fielding ratings way down. Then start a season. Sim ahead and play a game against them well into the season. See if the guy is still in the lineup and, if so, if the CPU subs him out late in the game. Just make sure the CPU is winning by a run or two going into the 7th-8th inning.Comment

Re: Cpu adjustments
What baffles me is the pitching subs the CPU makes.
I was playing the Marlins, Dontrelle was pitching a gem, and they took him out in the 7th after he had just struck out the 1st batter of the inning. His stamina was only about 30% or so. Then the "Curtain Call" animation ensued, and Dontrelle was gone. The Marlins still won like 4-2, but he could thrown another inning. With there bullpen the really need Dontrelle to pitch a CG. The CPU got lucky that I failed to blast there bullpen like I did in previous games.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: Cpu adjustments
One thing to note is the announcers do not mention if the CPU makes defensive subs at all. I have seen quite a few, but I only noticed it because I happened to be looking at the boxscore or looking at the opponnents handwritten lineup."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. Yeah this happened to me too, i forgot what team but the guy was pitching a gem and they took him out in the 7th.I think it has to do with the stamina.Once they get to a certain point the CPU yanks themWhat baffles me is the pitching subs the CPU makes.
