    Knuckle Curveball

    Especially AJ *****ng Burnetts

I just struck out 14 times to him in a 7-1 defeat to the Jays, and i swear over half of those k's were on Knuckle Curves.

Looks like a fastball then curves viciously at the last minute and bang....i swing and miss again.

    Hate the damn pitch.

Hope theres not too many more pitchers that can throw it!

What pitches do you guys find most difficult to handle?

One of the Yankees pitchers has that pitch, Petitte? I had a great game where he had me 2-hit confounded through 7 innings. Then I finally got three consecutive hits off him in the mid-8th and he got pulled
HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

I just finished facing Adam Wainright's 12-6 curve and though I didn't strike out too much against him (I think 4 times), it was the only pitch I never made contact with.

It looks like a changeup that falls off the table. Maybe my eyes need fixing, but that's what it looked like to me.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Mussina is probably the Yankee you are thinking about. He's thrown one for as long as I can remember.

What zoom do you play on? I play from 65 and I still can't judge like I would like.

Yeah that pitch is ridiculous. I wish it could be easier to tell what pitch is coming (a la MVP), especially since in real hitting, most batters can easily tell the knucklecurve is coming due to the pitcher's knuckle sticking out.

I dunno. I watch Mussina murder the Red Sox every year with that knuckle curve so even if they can see it coming they certainly can't do much about it. Jason Varitek even batted as a righty against Mussina at one point last year (he's a switch hitter - so he should have been batting lefty) because he's had so little success against that pitch.

I second that dude!! AJ Burnetts struck me out 13 times last night. I was the Yanks and he just murdered me. I still won the game though. The Jays brought in their bullpen and everything unraveled from there. But yeah that knuckle curve is just rediculous..I guess I know how opposing teams feel when I have Pettite pitching.

K-Rod's slider is 100% unhittable when I am pitching. Luckily I haven't faced him myself yet.

I had BIG problems with Sheets 12-6 curve however. He had me baffled the one game I played against him. When I looked fastball, he'd drop the curve. When I looked curve, he blew a fastball by me.

Wang's sinker is filthy as well. I usually make contact on him, but with his sinker, it's almost always a weak groundball.
