Should I get this game?
I'd like some honest answers. I'm really wanting to get an MLB game for the 360 for my birthday coming up and I was wondering should I get this game or get something from another genre? I've never played a 2K baseball game for current gen or next gen. So any suggestions would be welcomed.Twitter

Re: Should I get this game?
As long as you can deal with either having to babysit the CPU in regards to trades, screwy lineup problems and offseason transactions that make no sense then you will enjoy it since the on-field gameplay is outstanding with the right sliders. You can however turn trades off to curtail that, use force trades to correct problems when players get hurt and dont get called back up, and can again use force trades to somewhat correct the offseason problems, it just requires a lot of work. If you want this for the gameplay more then the franchise, then go get it now, its great on the field.
EDIT- There are also workarounds for players playing completely out of position, and in all honesty Im not sure if there is a firm fix for the lineup issues that have been discussed so I will let someone else comment on that one. -

Well I'm in it for the franchise mode. I loved MVP '05 but hated the progression of the players. If I can get a game with a good franchise mode, good gameplay, and solid player progression, I'm set.Twitter

Re: Should I get this game?
I'll be honest, I am a 2ksports fanboy. But for the past couple of years I couldn't stand the feel and look of their game. Ended up turning the last 2 years back into the store. Here recently I was pondering what next gen system I was going to get. I finally pulled the trigger and got a 360 premium at target with a bonus NBA2k7 game and a 3 year warranty for 29.00.... Played NBA 2k7 and LOVE IT.. Great game. Yesterday, I thought with a new console and all the ups and downs with MLB 2k7 I wasn't going to get it. Well I did. Boy, I was glad I did. I found myself playing the entire game. No pressing buttons to speed it up. After that game it was midnight and I came on OS to get BIGFINJOE"S sliders and around 12:30 I played another full game. I never got into a baseball game except for MVP 05..... I LOVE THIS GAME!!! I don't know what everyone is complaining about the fielding cam because I got it right away and find it enjoyable. In Daygames with bright sun, It's hard to field pop flies to the outfield. Well guess what, Its hard to field in bright sun. ANyway there are problems with the game and I will get more into it as soon as I play more but the first 2 games I found issues but the overall feel of the game, I am more then happy with it!!! GET IT!!!Comment

Franchise has issues. THe lineups get mess up just like MVP did back in the day. The player traded is jack up too. The biggest thing is the line ups in my opinion. The other things can be some what fixed!Comment

Re: Should I get this game?
I haven't delved too much into the franchise mode yet but from what I've seen it has a really good interface and seems like a lot of fun. Supposedly it is buggy from what people are saying, but who knows. I really haven't had any problems with this game once I spent time adjusting things and the same could be said for franchise mode. Just expect a lot of adjusting.Comment

Re: Should I get this game?
I know this is the consensus, but have any of you guys tried playing with some of the options. I know there are options for allowing the cpu to manage injured players, cpu trading, automatically adjust lineups etc.. I'm assuming this is just for your team, but it's weird that usually under the option it says this will manage "your" so and so and it doesn't say that on a few of the options. I know this is a longshot but just something i'll try. And even if that isn't the case, wouldn't it be possible to turn these all on and give yourself control of all teams so the cpu will manage but you can play god in some instances?Comment

Re: Should I get this game?
It seems to me like this game out of the box plays pretty good but with adjusting it's awesome. It's almost like sega said here we are going to give you a ton of options, great graphics and core gameplay, you figure it out. I'm not saying this game will ever play absolutely perfectly but I think it can be pretty close.Comment
