GM Mode much more complete then Franchise mode

I played into my second month of my Franchise and only got two emails. I have allready gotten more then that including an injury update email about David Ortiz being hurt for 58 days in 3 games of gm mode so far.. I have also seen an overlay i never saw in franchise. I think GM mode may be more complete then franchise after Giles hit a HR it showed an overlay of team Avg and where the Padres hit, was pretty cool Overlay. Another thing i have seen in my forst 3 games of gm mode is 2 passed balls by the cpu. I never saw any in franchise. Anyone else out there notice any of these differences? The Injury screen is cool you can go from there to League News and see all the stuff thats going on like Isringhausen sets milestone 250 Saves, Teams that completed 3 game sweeps and injuires etc. I wish they would have made another way to access this stuff but once you get in there its neat, the Sports ticker runs at the bot of the screen there as well. Also you can view team by team and switch to the trades screen for trade info, Movements, Free Agency, Coaches, Retirements, Hof, Periodic Awards, Milestones, Miscnews, and All. Pretty sweet stuff there

Ihave been wondering about this mode. No one has really said anything about it. Do you like it, are there any other things differently with this mode compared to franchise?

Yeah, what is 'extra' in GM mode?
Are we in charge of Hot Dog prices or is it much more complete with better stats, news, more options?

I dont see any diff at all other then setting ticket prices but i think you can also do that in franchise if im not mistaken. Maybe down the line it will offer new stuff? I do know that when you take the Coaching Job There are 4 goals for you to achive as GM. One of my goals is to get rid of Ray Durham wich i hate to do because i like him but i need to get him off my team. So i have been searching a trade. Maybe as you get further in the season or at the end you might be asked to adjust pricing of parking etc? but i dont see any difference yet other the that so far. But in the trade screen i selected every option on the right and selected Durham and got an offer from the L.A Dodgers. They want to give me a setup guy named Reese and a MR Kuo. So i think gm mode just involves you more into the team then franchise. Then you can hit your right or left trigger and it goes team by team and who they want to offer for Durham if any body. Pretty cool.

The actual in game gameplay is no different in Franchise and GM Mode, that makes no sense what you said. Why would gameplay be different, in a different mode? Next, the ticker is in franchise too. And I'm almost positive all the other stuff you mentioned is in Franchise too. I haven't seen one difference except for the fact in GM Mode, you have to complete goals to raise your CAP, or whatever you want to call it, including (If you're the Red Sox) "Trade away Varitek." ...yeah, like I'm really going to do that...oh wait, but if I don't, I'll get 2.5M subracted from the CAP, damn. I don't think GM mode was thought out very well..

Just stating what my finidings are after playing both sides. I did not say the gameplay changes anywhere. Noone says you have to try this lol. Problem was i never got an injury screen or league news in 2 months of franchise mode. If you did good for you then.

Well as far as I can tell, GM Mode is a bit more in-depth than franchise, but not enough to really make a difference for me. I think the goals you have to get are so messed up, it's not worth playing.

The goals they give you can be loft, but that is the fun part. Because if you don't meet the goal or choose not to meet the goal then your budget will suffer. I am doing a GM mode as the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and it's fun because I have to meet all or most of my goals so I can get a bigger budget and be more competitive.

For instance, I want to re-sign Scott Kazmir but he wants sooo much money that if I re-sign him then I might not be able to afford Johnny Gomes' contract or Jorge Cantu's. Then I won't have any offense. But if I do not sign Kazmir I won't have any pitching. So I am going to do my best to meet my goals so that I can get more money to sign Kazmir. Because if I am going to make them better than a 23 yr old lefty who is rated overall as an 87 will need to be re-signed.

This is why GM mode is fun for me.
