Well I had to go to Bronx for a series against the yanks. Batting against them was impossible. I think I got 3 hit by Pettite. I gave up like 10 runs. Where I had been striking guys out left and right in my previous 15 games, I may have managed 1-2. I also found the same pitchers that I was succesful with were now throwing balls instead of strikes. And every single time I left anything over the plate it would get hit to the gap. All the way to the wall, perfect placement. Everytime.
Then, in a complete contradiction to previous games, I would field the ball and throw it into my cutoff man as yanks were just getting to second. Everytime they would round second and head to third. I would gun to 3rd but magically, all my throws became lazy lobs. I gave up 3 triples on plays that were simple doubles against other teams. I have found that the logic in this game usually has the A1 runners slow down and stop at 2nd if you have thrown to the cutoof man. Keeps the game more real. But not in this series.
This went on for the entire series. Heck, by game 3 I decided to tweak my sliders to even have a chance but they rolled over me easily. Nothing I did helped.
Now, I know the Yanks are a good team and should play better than some. But to make my players seem to run and throw slower and my pitchers no longer can locate anything.....this seems a little extreme. It literally felt like a different game. It was not fun. I might expect the tribe to get swept by the yanks but not in this fashion.
Anyone else seeing a big difference when playing elite teams? Again, I expect it to be harder against them....but this just felt like an entire different logic system was in place. It played like a "different" game.
Peace all! Not bashing....just asking!
