Re: MLB - Average Hits Per Game ?
based off of last years stats, I took the high, low and just averaged them.
Hits - 9.2
Doubles- 1.9
Triples- 0.2
HR- 1.1
Base on Balls for a pitcher (min 120 innings)
Low was 28 total over 204 innings or an average of 1.2 per 9 innings.
High was 115 over 214 innings or an average of 4.5 per 9 innings.Gamertags

Re: MLB - Average Hits Per Game ?
Put it this way, teams USUALLY don't get more than 6 hits to the amount of runs scored. So if a team scored 3 runs then they'd get no more than 9 hits, or if they scored 12 runs they'd get no more than 18 hits. Obviously thats not always the case, but usually.Comment

Re: MLB - Average Hits Per Game ?
but i do think that the higher the run number, the smallest is the gap between runs and hits. like 10run 12hits.... and offcourse there are some games thaqt the runs number is equal os higher than the hit numbers...but that i suppose is something hard for any baseball game to reproduce... as it evolves walks, errors and clucth hitting...i personally could never find a game that could generate this kind of scoreboard(8run-6hit) as ususally as they happen in real life( take note that this isnt something that rare, specially for power bat teams, like red sox or yankees)---------------

Re: MLB - Average Hits Per Game ?
yeh thats right. no mlb team can leave that many man on base to a point of generating a 2run 12hit box score in regular basis...

Because everytime there is an opportunity for a DP it seamlessly executed 95% of the time.
More executed DP's = More hits, more runners left-on-base, & less runs scored.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment
