I dont understand this trade

I'm a little over a month into my franchise as the Cubs. And after a game on the main screen for franchise mode I see the statement Wells passes physical joins houston after trade. So i'm curious and i go check out what the trade was. Houston trades Lance Berkman to Toronto for Vernon Wells and signs free agent Phil Nevin to take over at first . So Houstons Depth cart has Lee in LF, Wells in CF, and Luke Scott in RF and Ensberg, Everett Biggio and Nevin around the horn in the infield. Now Toronto has Stairs Lind and johnson in the OF and Glaus Calyton Loretta and Berkman in the IF Looks like Houston came out good in this deal. What do you think

Yeah, uhh, the trade logic is pretty eff'ed up.

I'd suggest turning trades off before beginning your Franchise / GM / Season.

What did Toronto do with Overbay and Thomas then? I assume they got Berkman at first so one of the above must be sitting on the bench which makes no sense at all. If anything I would do a force trade and change Berkmans position to RF so he plays there more and Toronto still uses both Thomas and Overbay, assuming they still have them both of course.

Yes they still have them and I might do that I might do a trade to put Bonds back in SF and Reed back in Toronto cause Toronto really got screwed on that one IMO

The same exact trade happened in my franchise. The Blue Jays also traded Vernon Wells for Ken Griffey Jr.

Silliness.

When the next roster update comes out, I'm going to start a new Franchise and turn off Trades and Injuries. I'm tired of playing teams with ridiculous lineups.

It would be cool if it is the A.I. doing theese trades on purpose to free up cap space for the next season or something. I like the injuries though I hit a line drive of Louis Ayala's head yesterday and as the play was happening he was laying on the ground with his hand over his head and not moving at all. I thought I had killed him but he was taken off the field and it said he had a concussion and out for the season.

I have beaned 2 guys square in the head and both times it didnt result in an injury, not sure how this is possible. One time I nailed Doug Davis in the head since I was tired of him dominating me and of course he came back to pitch in the bottom half of that same inning and of course shut me down again.

I have trades turned off, I cant stand ridiculous trade logic. As for injuries, I've only seen two in my season so far, which is 18 games in. Both were outfielders crashing into the wall and both were day-to-day with rotator cuff soreness.

Yeah, on April 14 in my franchise, Arizona traded Randy Johnson to Milwaukee for Damian Miller. Guess they changed their mind real quick on him finishing his career in Arizona.
