No wind!

I have never seen any wind in franchise or gm mode yet.
In a regular game its there. Is this broken too?

I dont seem to see any stat that says what the wind is but Ive seen the ball change course in the air as if there is wind, flyballs drifting right or left. The one thing Im not sure on though, since I thought there was an option for dynamic fielding, is whether or not the ball kinda drifting is due to this or the wind.

I have the dynamic fielding option off and the ball marker still drifts. The wind is the only reason I can think of that would make it drift like that even with DF turned off.

Well I think that pretty much puts this topic to rest, I guess the only problem is they dont show what the wind is before, during or after the game. I kinda figured this is what it was, nice to have an example of it though.

I have seen it once in my franchise. It was at a night game in Oakland. It added to the ambiance for sure.

Yes they do.

The PA says it after the first pitch, in every game.

Turn his volume up in the audio options setting, i do and always hear it.

Its usually though "winds are calm, and from the north", although when playing in Toronto i got "winds are freezing" and could see the players breaths from their mouths, looked spot on.

I had this problem in my gm season. I ended up deleting the roster save I got off of 2ks network and then wind showed up. Weird. The PA guy would always say winds are calm from the north. Now I get a variety.

Interesting.

Did you have to restart your franchise or did you just delete the roster file and went back to your franchise and you suddenly started getting a variety of winds?

another fix...start up the game. go to exhibition. choose windy or breezy in the options. back out. load your season. there will be wind, but it doesn't save after you turn off the game, so it seems.

pretty dumb, but at least it works.

It does make me laugh when you are playing in a dome such as Minnesota and yet still there are "calm winds, from the north" :o

hmm, good question. i think it's random after you do this until you turn off the game, then it's back to calm. i'll have to play more than one season game before turning off to see...anyway, glad you got it to work.

ill try to check if it works properly after we set wind on...
well, after 3 games played so far, all had wind..so i guess every game will have wind after you set it on...
how will you play with it?? all wind? or all calm? or will u use any scheme ?

I think the wind effects work in the game (physics) what i never see is wind on the flags or jerseys and i can tell you At&t park has wind. Not so much in the stadium interior like Candlestick did but out in the outfield they get a lot of wind.

well..by doing that thing brrmikey suggested i see flags and jerseys moving just liek in the exibition games. the problem is that if you set wind, every game wil have wind... it wont be random.
