I did notice that in my franchise that he is a meager .205 and everytime he steps up to the plate they go on and on about his batting title. I have had no problem getting him out when I face the Pirates. Very strange, but I have no problem getting out when I use Ramirez

No clue why, but when I did a fantasy draft the other day (stopped the franchise after a few games), one of my picks was Chris Duncan. I TORE the cover off the ball with him. I believe after 4 or 5 games, he had something like 11 doubles. No home runs, but everything he hit found the gap. Granted, he is a very good hitter in real life, but this was crazy.

More recently, i've been slaughtering the ball with Ortiz. Not a big suprise, but anything on the inside part of the plate brings rain. About 400 feet worth of rain, almost every time. Another is Youkilis. They ALWAYS pitch him inside for some reason, and I usually get around on it and yank doubles down the line with ease.

One hitter I SUCK with is Eckstein. He was another player in my fantasy drafted franchise. He had NO hits through the 4 or 5 games I played. Nothing. He usually made contact, but I don't think he left the infield even once. It was usually a pathetic, dinky groundout.

I also suck something awful with Pedroia. He's batting a stifling .096 for me right now.

Yeah thats exactly how Eckstein is with me, he rarely hits the ball to the OF and anything he hits in the IF he isn't fast enough to beat out so hes a gonner. Hes hitting .195 for me now so showing no signs of improvement.

Duncan is a beast though as you pointed out, hes been hitting around .333 for me but recently is on a hot streak and is up to .350 (although hes 0 for 2 this game so that'll be comin back down some again), anything up and in he can crush for homers, and most of his hits find the gaps like you said.

I've played many exhibition games with the Braves and I seem to go 4-5 with multiple RBI every game with Chipper Jones. On the other hand, I can barely put the ball in play with Andruw Jones.

Using the Pirates, Jason Bay has been my most consistent hitter (.305 13 hrs 30 rbi through 40 games) I also have had a lot of success with Adam Laroche (.300 8hr) freddy sanchez (.310 20 rbi) and Brad Eldred (5 Hr in 40 AB's) I have really struggled with Jose Castillo (.180 4 starts a week) and Ronny Paulino (.240). The rest of the lineup is between .260 and .280, right where they should be. My bench is horrible though, with the exception of Eldred. Mclouth, Doumit, Hernandez and Matos are all below .200. Bay just pounds mistakes.

I can't hit with Placido Polanco. It seems every time he gets a hold of something it's either right at an infielder or it's a pop up. He's hitting like .189 through 20 games, and was around .180 in the other season I played through about 40 games. So through a cool 60 games, I officially can't hit over .200 with him.

Forgot to mention in a previous post, after getting Morneau from the Twins he has raised his batting average nearly 50 points and just hit a walkoff 3-run homerun to beat the Reds 4-2, great game.

Re: Hitters you seem to dominate with or suck with?

Someone already posted Justin Morneau but he is a beast for me also.

In my online league we are playing a 32 game season and he is hitting .418 with 27 HR's and 45 RBI's through 26 games with the power slider toned down to like 20. He just seems to hammer everything. And when I don't hit a HR with him hes getting a base hit or double. Although I have to admit I've strucken out a few times with him. Another thing is I was playing a kid online today and I got a grand slam with Morneau to give me a 4-0 lead in the top of the 7th. It was a tight game until Morneau jacked one. I'm loving Morneau in this game plus he is my favorite player in baseball.
